We are so excited to finally and officially announce this collaboration we have been working on with Coast Academy of Dance & Dominique's School of Dance for the past 10 months! Sunshine Coast Nutcracker is holding auditions on February 28th for the 2021 December Production! For dancers ages 7+ from the Sunshine Coast. All are welcome!... A classic tale with a modern twist! This globally adored annual ballet production will have all the roles and dances audiences know and love with the addition of some new roles and the addition of more Acrobatics and Contemporary pieces! Our talented Sunshine Coast dancers will still have the opportunity to share the stage with professional guest performers as well as many exciting lead roles for local youths. Attention Dance Works Families: The Health Office has now and quite suddenly changed their ruling and asked that all studios suspend all Group classes temporarily so that they can take the time to update their mandates. Then we can re apply to re open to groups again. IN THE MEANTIME: We will be offering a combination of Zoom classes AND Semi Private Lessons IN STUDIO (which we have been granted permission to operate) for ALL students. We received our approval to operate! We have been cleared and our Covid Safety Plan has been approved by the health deputy. COVID 19 UPDATE: Hello Dance Works Families, Due to the current lock down for the means of assessment by the health board we will be CLOSED for the week of November 9-15th. As of today, we have sent in a copy of our Covid Safety protocols to the be reviewed and approved by Vancouver Coastal Health. While we prepare the studio for inspection this week as we wait for their feedback and approval to re open. We have several strategies in place to deal with this lock down....Continue reading

Special Congrats to the follow students winning Top 10s. - Aaliyah Barbaro (4th Overall - Contemporary) - Gabriel, Jaedon & Johnathan (5th Overall - Tap)... - Aoife (8th Overall - Acrobatics) - Nevaeh (9th Overall - Jazz) And Congrats to Gabriel & Aaliyah for scoring our studios Highest mark of the day with Le Poisson! Synergy Dance Competition this past weekend, for Solos, Duos & Trios only and a well organized event with all the COVID protocols in place. A huge shout out to Sarah for all her hard work and dedication to our industry, keeping this competition alive and giving our kids a chance to get back to the stage and doing what they love. Massive thanks to the teachers (Shantaya, Marcel & Chelsea) who work hard all season, but especially these past few weeks to get these kiddos stage ready. And a big shout out to Kim Kavanagh & Kelly Greenfield for bringing the RV and setting up the best dance lounge for all of us out in the parking lot! Love our Dance Fam! xoxoxox.
