Know a senior who needs help getting to a scheduled COVID-19 vaccine appointment? As part of our Care Program we are offering our members free transport to and from the vaccine clinics. Making life easier for our seniors.

Irene Cooper has been a longtime volunteer and was formerly a member of our board. We continue to host her vision of a Giving Tree every year at Christmas time. Visitors take an ornament with a suggestion for a gift from the tree and then drop the gift back to the centre for distribution to a shelter, charitable organization or anyone in need. 2021 donations were donated to the Salvation Army. Due to the recent announcements by the provincial government regarding COVID-19 our centre will be closed as of 1pm Wednesday November 25 until further notice. All in-house activities (community market, bingo, painting etc) are suspended. The status of scheduled December special events will be evaluated as the situation evolves. Our Meals on Wheels service will continue. If you are interested in receiving this service call 902-465-5578 ext 216. There will be a time when this is all over. We wish everyone strength until that time.

Each year, Dartmouth Seniors Service Centre holds its annual recognition dinner to honour those that have made significant contributions to the Centre. This year’s honourees are our volunteers and staff who demonstrated extraordinary courage and dedication to fulfill our Meals on Wheels Program during the COVID pandemic to support our seniors. Typically, our recognition dinner is our premier gala dinner and ceremony, complete with a gourmet meal.
