2020 has been a year of profound and at the same time, simple teachings. - It was a year that offered me the opportunity to return Home. To retake the structure and essence of being, the reason for living. -... It is easy to be grateful for the happy moments and those in which the situations turned out as we wanted. 2020 gave us what we wanted and asked so much: to slow down, and to enjoy the gift of time. Let's not forget it. And let's empower ourselves with the invaluable teachings, those personal, those universal and prepare ourselves to receive with enthusiasm, joy, illusion and gratitude in 2021. . .. ... #2020 #happynewyear #happynewyear2021 #2021 See more

Many traditions teach that if you know the name of something you can gain mastery over it. This doesn’t relate to the outer name, but to the inner name, which is a mantric vibration. SEASONAL CLEANSING: Light diet at the change of season, most importantly while transitioning into spring and fall and a healthy balancing cleanse routine are pivot points to build immunity and wellness. Fall and spring mark a major junction in weather changes. We see many people becoming ill with colds, flus and allergies, to the point that these seasons are known as the flu season or allergies season and we get to believe that it is a fact.... The need to keep warm in fall after trying to keep cool all summer, can knock the body for a loop. If we put attention to the changing qualities of the season, for instance, by shifting to warm, oily foods as the weather gets cold & dry in the fall, one can avoid issues caused by excessive cool & drying qualities coming suddenly into the body such as drying skin, constipation or cold hands and feet. A mono diet at the change of the season assist the body in adjusting to a new rhythm. As I transition into fall, I am incorporating three days of Kitchari in my diet. Kitchari: Mung beans Basmati rice Coriander seeds Cumin seeds Fenugreek Turmeric Carrots Ghee Fresh parsley to garnish. We can practice mindfulness in every action. ~ Bringing the awareness of the senses around a cup of tea goes beyond the pleasure of enjoying all the qualities of the tea. ~ Sitting in mindfulness and devotion around a cup of tea is a ceremony. ... The cup of tea can be this object of mindful observation. This conscious and mindful act around the cup of tea is meditation in action.~ Contemplating the sunset while drinking my tea, reminds me of the law of impermanence. ~ I will never be able to see the same sunset. I will never be able to drink the same tea. This whole experience will never happen again. It is unique. ~ The sunset itself is teaching us of this impermanence. ~ The experience around the cup of tea will never be the same. I can use the same tea, the same cup and the same place to be with my tea. But I can never recreate the past. And that is a gift. ~ I will never be able to live in the future because the future doesn’t exist. ~ All that is real is happening here and now, in the present moment. ~ Live each experience fully. HOME MADE GHEE. Like having the Sun in a jar. Ghee is clarified butter which is highly appreciated in Ayurveda. We recommend the use of ghee for the maintenance of good health, to protect agni (digestive fire) and to treat different health issues like those related with the digestive system, mental fatigue, skin and eyes issues etc.... The properties of ghee support healthy microbes in the gastrointestinal tract which improve digestion and elimination. It nourishes all the tissues of the body, including the nervous system, translating into calm energy throughout the day. Vata dosha (elements of air and space) and pitta (elements of fire and water) benefit most from ghee, as it nourishes the dry, light, rough quality of vata and the hot, light, sharp quality of pitta. The Charaka Samhita, one of the classical texts of Ayurveda, says that the intake of ghee is prescribed for those whose bodily constitution is dominated by vata and pitta, who is [sic] suffering from diseases due to the vitiation of vata and pitta, those desirous of good eye sight, the old, children, the weak, those desirous of longevity, those desirous of strength, good complexion, voice, nourishment, progeny, tenderness of the body, luster, ojas [life-sustaining vitality], memory, intelligence, power of digestion, wisdom, proper functioning of sense organs, and those afflicted with injuries due to burns. Ghee also augments intellect and enkindles digestive enzymes, per the text. Making Ghee: In a deep pot, cook at a low heat butter. As the butter melts, you will see foam coming at the top of the golden buttery liquid. Cook until all the water evaporates and the solids sink to the bottom of the pan. Be careful in not burning the ghee. The color should be bright golden. Use a cheesecloth to transfer the ghee from the pot into a jar. Let it cool and close the jar. If it is made properly, there is no need to refrigerate. Store in a cool and dark place. ~ #ghee #ayurveda #ayurvedalifestyle #ayurvedicmedicine #ayurvedaeveryday #ayurvedicmedicine #naturalmedicine #ayurvedamedicine #vatadosha #pittadosha #ayurvedaeducator #ayurvedicconsultant #onlineconsultations

Dhyana Yoga and Ayurveda 05.07.2020

We are gently transitioning from summer, the pitta dosha, into fall, the vata dosha. Fall gives as a lovely opportunity to acknowledge movement. The wind gets stronger. The leaves start falling from the trees. Nature’s movement switch from going more outwards, vibrant and explosive towards going inwards, being quieter and serene.... We experience the unpredictable and changeable qualities of vayu, the wind. We start noticing how fast nature changes. However, among all this unpredictable changes and movements, we can always find stillness, peace and serenity. But to reconnect with that balance between movement and stability, we must slow down. It might be necessary to get off the wave of constant movement to find and feel again how being grounded feels like. Giving to ourselves the opportunity to find our ground back, to reconnect with our center. We can’t avoid movement, since movement is part of us, it is constant, however, we can find in the mist of movement, stillness. Like at the core of a tornado, at its center there is this space of calm, ease and stillness. Vata can be this meditation upon our movements. The movement of our energies, intentions and actions. How the momentum that we are implying is affecting our life and decisions. I see the practice of yoga and Ayurveda as art. The art of mastering our ability to learn to move from a place of stillness and ease. . .. ... #yogasub #findingbalance #balanceyoga #headstand #boardyoga #paddleboard #paddleboardyoga #subyoga #vata #vatadosha #fallseason #lakehuron #lakehuronsunset #goderich #sunsalutation #meditation #meditationpractice #meditationspace #myfavoriteplace #myyogapractice #ayurveda #ayurvedalifestyle #ayurvedaeveryday #devotion #spiritualpractice #vayu #findyourcenter #slowdown

The Moon emanate energies which vibrations influence Earth’s tides and the water within our bodies. From an Ayurvedic point of view, the water element is the element of the moon. Water is responsible for our emotions, feelings and behaviour. The moon represents our inner self, our pass, our hidden self, our deepest desires, dreams, fears and worries. It has a strong influence in the mind and nervous system.... The moon represents the feminine energies, the ida, our consciousness and intuition. The SUN represents our ‘outer-world’, our identify, our personality, will power our ego and ambitions. It’s element is fire which carries the ability to metabolize, transform, purify and digest. It represents the masculine energies, the pingala. The Moon offers us the space and energies to reconnect with our core and with our true essence. It gives us the chance to heal deep seated suffering or pain, your sanskaras, and karma. Empower your creativity to unlock yourself free and express your essence. Full Moon Intentions/ Meditation: I choose to cleanse myself from any thoughts, situations, and behaviours that no longer serve to my highest & greatest good. I am luminous.
