Had the local health unit inspectmy boat and social distancing requirements Friday afternoon. So I’ll be allowed to have 6 possibly 8 (depending if there are... divers from same household) on the boat at a time. All need to wear masks. No head (bathroom), no pail of fresh water to dip masks in, all need to bring their own water in their bottle, no diver allowed to enter the cabin area. The less gear on the boat the better. Taking everything into consideration my 2020 rate will be $100 for two dives. Weekday evening single dives (6pm departure) will be $40 for the dive. See more

Hi guys! In order to support local and make the divers feel welcome; the Spitfire Cafe will be offering a 15% discount when divers show their 1000 islands diving token. We will start this this Thursday, July 2nd

Centeen Park is open for shore diving. Please follow the shore diving protocol, it’s in English & French. I also believe the rest of the shore diving sites are now also open. Thank you Stéphan Senécal for your hard work in getting the shore diving sites opened before July 1!

Sydney and Sarah are missing diving, so they figured this was as close as they could get right now... how’s everyone else coping during this time?

Hi everyone. As you are all aware this dive season is shaping up to look quite different, which is definitely not what we were all hoping for. We've been asked by Under Where? _Dive Charter to have a poll on if there is enough interest for Tom Scott to put his boat in the water this year. After speaking with Tom and looking at the current social gathering restrictions here is roughly what it looks like: - Possible start of July 1st - Max of 5 people allowed on the boat at a... time(4 divers, and Tom) - Cost of $125 CAD per person for a 2 tank boat dive if gas prices remain where there are (**price subject to change if gas prices go up) With those factors in mind we would greatly appreciate if you could take the time to participate in this poll and let us know if you would be interested in boat dives this summer, or if it's not feasible for you this year. Thank you in advance!

Looking for something new to do? Check out this opportunity at the Aquatarium! Dear potential Volunteer Dive Team member, Diving at the Aquatarium is an opportunity to share our mutual passion of diving with others. Though the diving is not technically challenging, it is entertaining for the team members and the general public that witness our operations. It is a significant attraction for members of the general public and offers the opportunity for us to interact with them... and promote our sport, the diving, wrecks and history in the area and our pride in our area communities. As a volunteer dive team member, you would be helping maintain the aquatic environment of the four principal aquariums at the Aquatarium, as well as interacting with the public both as the dive supervisor and the diver. Every dive includes a three member team; the two positions just mentioned and a line tender. We do rotate opportunities to ensure preference and opportunity for all team members. Needless to say, the Aquatarium relies on the services of the volunteer dive team as it is considered a commercial venue by governing agencies. In order to become a volunteer dive team member, you simply need at least open water certification, a vulnerable sector police check (which is free for volunteer organizations like the Aquatarium) and completion of six on-line course modules. These modules are a review of materials that you are familiar with , but we are required to administer them due to the requirements of our governing agencies. If you are interested in exploring this opportunity, please contact the Dive Coordinator (Chris Wood) at [email protected] or by phone at (613)342-1180 . Thanks for your interest and we hope to hear from you soon! Kind regards, Chris Wood Interim Volunteer Dive Team Coordinator Aquatarium 6 Broad St Brockville ON, K6V 0C4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ok3loEFVtwg&feature=youtu.be
