Hello All, I’ve been asked to do a river dive to record a historic mill site directly below the evaporator plant. Depth is 4-5’. Any divers with video equipmen...t are free to join in this Saturday. Time TBD. Given current, depth and unknown site conditions I’d ask that only experienced divers with advanced cert come out. I’d plan on going in quite negative and boots only (in addition to exposure gear). I may also bring a reef hook to lock in for good shots in the current. A buddy in the circumstances, would be welcome. I plan a single tank which at those depths would be more than enough. DM me if you’re interested. Cheers. Quinn.
It has been a dismal year for shore diving. We got out only a handful of times early in the season (April/May). Last year the best conditions were in September. Bayfield Beach

It's that time of year to dust off the gear. Here are some options.
What can I say.... the visibility is magical but the water is cool! https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10161017230910717&id=891730716
Deric lost a weight pocket if anyone happened to find one just west of Rotary arch!
Low 50's, clam as, crystal clear. Tobermory conditions!!
Here's a picture of the lake temperatures. With the east wind pushing the surface water to the otherside of the lake the cooler bottom temp has taken its place! https://www.glerl.noaa.gov/res/glcfs/glcfs.php

I call this a rudder but welcome a correction.
Exploring further south of the propeller we find this pulley. We recently learned of a warf with a rail trolley that ran down the hill and out into the lake at Rotary Cove. Maybe a piece from that era?
A crispy Sunday morning at the boneyard! We haven't seen this temperature since May!
Some interesting news worth sharing!
