Got back around to my bait from this past spring, turns out I didnt get the biggest bruin in the area, heres to next year!

5 year turnaround I hope every deer hunter gets to experience in their hunting career what it's like to find a good one, chase it hard, have it not work out many times, all for it to happen when you least expect it and when it's most needed. We've taken larger deer and I'm hoping we will continue to for years to come but I'll never live by a tape measure when it comes to chasing whitetails, give me a mature deer supporting a beautiful set of antlers and a hard hunt every fall, that to me is what we're in it for here at Alberta Dark Horn. #albertadarkhorn #sickforit

Looking to unplug and enjoy a Canadian winter adventure? The timber wolf is without a doubt the toughest species on anyones bucket list to obtain. That being said our hunts are conducted over heavily baited sites with well placed stand locations. Pictured here is a client of mine Brad, on this hunt he took his wolf on day 3 after seeing a pack of six on day 2 and getting a crack off and missing a big black wolf on day 1. It's been a long time since a bear like this was thrown on the old Honda. Another first time bear hunter and great friend Seth put the hammer down on what would be "world class" in the black bear category OR ANY BEAR CATEGORY. That puts a cap on my bear season. Chasing bruin black bears is no easy task. I've personally guided tons of black bears and hauled out some that will forever be burnt into the ole memory. To harvest a mature bear is arguably one of the hardest animals to obtain and bait can help with those odds but you're kidding yourself if you think itll be a slam dunk. I've been putting out baits for myself for the past 5 years now and had yet to see one worth going after. This bear I was truly lucky enough to take after only 7 hrs of sitting on my first night in a bait I've been working for over a decade. You can tell I've been out of the bear game for awhile after I completely misjudged his size and he grew when the tape hit him. World class category to say the least, but well earned nevertheless. #albertadarkhorn
