Fast-Fashion, a high speed, slow-fashion sewing challenge featuring Elly Grant of @doubledipped_ and Toby Binder from @virgosewing & @virgo.apparel Presented as part of the @bumarooo Festival 2020 livestream, filmed @silenceguelph What is a fast-fashion sewing challenge?... With a Project Runway style approach, two competitors are faced with the task of creating a garment from scratch, but with limited time to spare. For this challenge, competitors prepared a mystery bag for their opponent, containing pre-cut pattern pieces to create a garment from start to finish. Participants were given 20 minutes to complete their garments, sewing them on vintage machines. ‘Fast Fashion’ goes to show that good clothing can’t be made in just a day, nevertheless 20 minutes! Clothing made slowly means better quality to last for years to come
