Happy Canadian Agriculture Day

Thought that I should send out a note to Facebook land about rodeo in Alberta. The provincial government came out yesterday with a grant for rodeos and other l...ive events ( folk festivals etc). This is worth looking into if you are involved in any kind of western event. Amateur or professional. The key to this one is that the deadline for application on this one is FEB. 18TH. What I have found out over the last few days is that alot of people are not aware that non profits are also eligible for the small business restart grant that has been available for a while. This grant has funding up to $20 000 if your group qualifies for the full amount. Even if your event is unsure if they are able to host an event this year it might be a good idea to look into these. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the Drayton Valley Pro Rodeo. Hope to see everyone in the spring of 2021!

It is with a heavy heart that we made the decision to not host the 2020 rodeo in August. After talking to AHS, the Covid-19 guidlines for spectators are not going to be changing before our new proposed dates. We made the very hard decision to cancel the 6th Annual Drayton Valley Pro Rodeo. We look forward to seeing everyone at our 2021 rodeo April 30th, May 1st and 2nd. We thank everyone for their support and understanding during these challenging times. Stay safe.

DRAYTON VALLEY PRO RODEO STATEMENT ON THE 2020 RODEO- Wednesday April 15th, 2020 The DVPR board of directors made the tough decision to postpone the 6th Annual Drayton Valley Pro Rodeo because of COVID-19. We are moving forward and hosting our rodeo the last weekend of August outdoors at the Lion's club rodeo grounds. There will be more details coming after we finalize our new plans. UPDATE!! The Drayton Valley Pro Rodeo committee and family take the health and welfare of all our community seriously. If at all possible we want to hold our 6th Annual rodeo on May 1-3rd 2020. We are continuing in the planning of our rodeo as planned. We have scheduled a meeting April 14th and we will update you at that time.... Everyone needs to pull together at this time, help others in need and make sure you stay safe and healthy. "When the going gets tough, the tough get going."
