It’s spring time here in Western Canada- that means quick daily changes in the barometer. I have been seeing an large increase in the number of cases of BPPV (benign paroxysmal positional vertigo) over the last few months which has kept me thinking but I think I have finally stumbled across an answer... A study came out recently that shows a change in the barometric pressure by just one unit leads to an increase in BPPV diagnoses by a factor of 6.1 and shows positive correlation with other inner ear related diagnoses. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/31147143/
