HI everyone The Downtown Eastside is officially closing on January 28, 2020. It has been a long, exciting, taxing, liberating and powerful journey with ups and downs, challenges and achievements. At 74 years of age, I have decided to retire from DECA. I will be moving to Saa-ust to manage the DTES Circle of Grandmothers and return to my first love...my music. I want to thank everyone who has supported us over the years...my sincere appreciation . If you would like to drop by, we are having a closing reception on Tuesday January 28 beginning at 6:30....hope to see you there. ....in peace, Dalannah

Dalannah and Fall programming 2019 HI everyone, I am checking in as I wanted to let you know that the Downtown Eastside Centre for the Arts is returning with our arts programs Mondays and Tuesdays starting on Tuesday September 3. We have what we think...smiles.... is excellent art workshops; Mondays from 1-4:00 is Coast Salish Weaving with Doris F. Doris is from the Musqeuam Nation and she shares the history of the art form that she teaches and brings a wealth of knowledge with her. Participants will learn how to make vests, bags and headbands. Tuesdays will be shawl-making with chair yoga to start. We look forward to offering our art s programs that integrate wellness into our offerings....in peace, Dalannah
