Time to bunker down for the next while. No sales or new work. Work will continue on the few customer things that are still here. But don't worry, this business will pull through!

I will now be charging HST. This business has grown to the point where that is necessary.

Here is a picture of how a Marantz display should look. To get it to look this way, I replace the lamps and I replace the diffuser paper behind the dial. The original paper is velum paper and it yellows with age due to the heat from the lamps. This gives the dial a green look when it should be more of a blue. I replace it with mylar paper, which gives the original look but will not yellow. I use either 200mA incandescent lamps, or LED, depending on what the customer wants. It... is very important to use 200mA bulbs and not the brighter 250 or 300mA bulbs as they throw off more heat and this results in the plastic lamp housing melting and becoming deformed much faster. The original housing is the most melted one I've seen. When pulled the lamps out of this one, I was not surprised to find out they were 300mA bulbs, which throw off much more heat. If the housing has siginificantly deformed, switching to LED can let us save the housing because it will not melt any more as LED do not get hot. This one however was too far gone and the customer went with the new 3D printed housing from ebay. Here are some pictures from the 2325 that was just on the bench. The first picture is a 2230 with incandescent lamps and new diffuser paper. See more
