Early Achievers is currently accepting applications for a Trainee Level, Level 1 or Level 2 Early Childhood Educator to join our team. This position includes working with toddler-preschool children. This position will be 40 hours a week from Monday-Friday. We provide the best quality enrichment, educational services and licensed childcare to the c...hildren of St. John’s and surrounding areas. We close for Christmas, Easter and two weeks in the summer and offer an excellent benefits package. The successful candidate will be required to provide: A Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check from the RCMP or local Police First Aid Certificate Immunization Record Educational Documents *All applications and interviewees will be kept in the strictest confidence. Happy Friday everyone! It's been a great first week back! The children have been very busy getting back into the routine of things!

Thank you for the kind gestures shown to our staff this week, your cards, thoughtful gifts, treats and warm wishes did not go unnoticed! Just a reminder we are closed until January 3rd. Festive Friday was the perfect way to end our week! Our staff took place in the festivities while busy planning for the New Year and Frosty came for a visit!!!

Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following: Assist classroom teachers with planning, supervising, and implementing individualized programs for the child based on their developmental needs. This may include the implementation of PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) and/or other visual aids in accordance with the policies and philosophy of the center. Assist classroom teachers gear the program to the needs of individual children, with concern for their interests, challenges, special talents, and individual styles and paces of learning. Considering individual children in relationship to their cultural and socioeconomic background. Treating children with dignity and respect. Helping children become aware of their roles as integral members of a group. Assist classroom teachers with the ordered arrangement, appearance, decor and learning environment of the child care room. Assuming an equal share of the joint housekeeping responsibilities of the staff. Attending all staff meetings. Participating in recommended training programs, conferences, courses and other aspects of professional growth. Work together with classroom teachers with the planning and implementation methods of establishing a positive liaison with children’s parents and caregivers. Conducting parent/caregiver conferences on children’s adjustment and behavior. Assisting in the ongoing evaluation procedures needed to assess the developmental levels of the children. Assisting in public-relations events sponsored by the school. Job Types: Part-time, Contract Salary: $15.00-$16.00 per hour
