Last week, during our Play & Learn program, we learned how to make Rangoli. Anu and our student Kirandeep showed one of our families the steps for making it. This activity represented the foundation of Belonging as Anu & Kirandeep shared something from their culture in our program. It is January 5th and today we are making a Musical Shaker! This activity promotes the foundation of Expression because it helps your child develop their language and vocabulary skills as they sing songs while they shake their shaker. Another way to work on vocabulary skills is to give your child directions as they shake their shakers. You can ask them to shake it fast, slow, up high or down low. Encourage your child to repeat each direction. ... You will need: Empty container with lid Noise making items (dry rice, beans, pasta) Directions: Place dry items into empty container. Glue cotton balls onto snowman’s body. Add googly eyes and pipe cleaners as arms.
