I PROMISE NOT TO PULL MY OWN TEETH Are you allowing "just anyone" to manage your online presence? As a Brand and Marketing specialist, I am astonished that professionals in different industries trust their marketing to non-professionals. Everyday I see business owners who hire their cousin’s high school kid to do a website for their company. They may know about computers, but know very little about how to analyze your businesses competitive advantages.... Times are a changing 20 years ago, in the infancy of Internet marketing, it was forgivable that businesses started with inexperienced help, but the industry has evolved to the point where if you hire a well meaning relative it does more harm than good. Just as Dentists evolved from Barbers, you now need someone who not only understands how computers work, but a multi-disciplinary marketing professional. To obtain good exposure a business requires more than a static ad or website. It needs well-crafted content that blends with your CRM, email, and social media. The best brands do this seamlessly AND I can tell you that at Ikea and Lexus, an 18-year-old grandchild is not managing their Integrated Brand Communication. Remember the Yellow Pages? Customers are still letting their fingers do the walking but its through keyboarding and surfing the web. It is 2016 and the days of taking out a yellow page ad or having only a one page website are gone. Twenty years ago spending $1,500.00 a month for a corner color ad in the thick yellow book was normal. Now, some businesses think that by replacing their yellow page ad with a simple do it yourself website they will get the same results. In modern times we go to Dentists rather than Barbers to have our teeth fixed, and I promise that I won’t try to pull my own teeth! Get someone who "gets" your business Find a professional who can Market like the big brands. They must understand your business and use Google, content writing and social media to highlight your unique selling points. A key to saving money and doing it right is having a brand manager who oversees your website, e-marketing, and social media so that you have one consistent strong voice. This will make your efforts more effective, and your brand more attractive. Contractors, such as web designers, content developers and social media contributors all need to commonly your business.

A Pokestop is a place where people can restock their supplies of Pokeballs (that they throw at Pokemon) and get other bonus items as well. Pokegyms are virtual battle gyms where players can pit their Pokemon again others to gain points. Pokemon are virtual creatures that are featured in the game that people, young and old are talking about. The class action suit in Torrington shows how a Pokestop attracts people and traffic to your business. This residence was picked as a Pokestop because of it's previous status as a diner. The deluge of visitors from surrounding areas to this sleepy hamlet shows the willingness of potential customers to travel to a Pokestop. Businesses should be able to capitalize on this increase in traffic flow. A restaurant, for example, should see an increase in revenue potential. If you are lucky enough to be picked to be a Pokestop or Pokegym, you may already be seeing an increase in your revenue stream. This may be increased by updating your branding to highlight all of the outstanding features of your business, including riding the wave of this new phenomenon.
