Etobicoke Lakeshore Culture Days 20.04.2021

*Location Update * Please be advised that our location for Etobicoke Lakeshore Culture Days Waatebagaa-Giizis (Changing Leaves Moon)/Seskehkó:wa (Time o...f much freshness) aka September Festival has shifted inside! The festival will remain at the Humber College Lakeshore Campus at 19 Colonel Samual Smith Park Drive, but now we are inside L-Building at the L-Commons. Our workshops have now moved inside too.

Etobicoke Lakeshore Culture Days 16.04.2021

We are very excited to have a few musicians playing at Culture Days, who are tied back to different origins and cultures. Welcome them with us!! One of the Musicians we are having is MAJD SUKAR Majd sekkar - , he is a Syrian clarinetist. A member of the Canadian Arabic Orchestra and a clarinet and Arabic music theory teacher at the Canadian Arabic Conservatory. Majd has experience of performing with famous Arabic Singers at different stages in Syria, Lebanon, Jordan,... Algeria. He moved to Canada in 2016 and shortly started performing in different Canadian cities and with renowned international Arabic singers and composers. He also gave masterclasses at the University of Toronto and York University in the Arabic music theory and taught how to incorporate the clarinet in middle eastern music. Majd is now studying Jazz Performance at Humber College and continues to collaborate with different local bands. Come and See Majd performing Live on Saturday, September 28th at Student Welcome & Resource Centre, 2 Colonel Samuel Smith Park Drive. Show some Love to this huge celebration of National arts and culture in Etobicoke Lakeshore area for the eighth consecutive year .. Shout Out to the presenting partners- Humber College and Lakeshore Arts and the supporting partners - The Assembly Hall from the City of Toronto, Lakeshore Village BIA, and Mimico by the Lake BIA. ..
