DRESS LOAN PROGRAM due to recent announcement from the provincial regarding the extended lockdown we are introducing something new! if your wedding is within 6-7 months we are offering a loan program. how does it work? we will loan you 3 dresses of your choice to try on at home. there will be a fee of $100 for this program. if you choose a dress, the fee will be deducted from your dress purchase. dresses will be available by curbside pick-up. please email us at [email protected] if you would like to schedule your loan appointment

real talk hello! i’m Bailey, the very proud owner of this sweet little shop, Elliot + Olivia. as we begin the last month of the year (how!?) i wanted to to share some facts about me & some things that are on my heart. many of you may not know that in addition to owning, running and managing Elliot + Olivia, I also work a full-time job & own a rental property. in september, my fiancé & i also relocated to Barrie. i don’t often talk about the fact that I have worked full-ti...me since I opened this shop.. but I think it’s important to, because I’ve finally been able to admit that I am very proud of that fact, that I am still standing after almost 3 years of doing all of that. the time since opening Elliot + Olivia has been the most challenging & the most rewarding all at once. but what this pandemic forced me to do (as i know many others too) is look inward at accomplishments, purpose, productivity & worthiness. who are we when we are not running a mile a minute? who are we when we are at rest... without being productive? are we able to sit in that space and love ourselves? what i came to realize after opening the shop and talking to so many other business owners, is i am not alone in the working a full-time job, in order to pursue and support a dream or a passion. the struggle can often be very, very real. over the last few months i have unfortunately had to learn about the negative affects of burnout. what I’ve come to understand is that burnout’s underlying symptom is often that we do not feel good enough. i am someone who has never felt good enough. even after opening Elliot + Olivia.. the high was real (and still is! i love every second of working with and assisting brides and their family and friends and running the business) but as this pandemic not so subtly let me know, is once you are forced to be still & stop running a mile a minute, you eventually have to look inward and figure out how to feel good enough, without all of the extrinsic stuff. in two weeks i will be finished at my day job & looking for my next adventure! but before that i will be taking some time off (and voluntarily closing the shop for 4 weeks! a first for me!!) i wanted to share my thoughts to remind everyone to slow down. you don’t have to constantly be achieving goals, or being productive to be worthy. that is a dangerous & unhealthy loop to get yourself into. i hope you can all take some time to look inward & feel good enough just as you are. if this crazy time has taught us anything, it is that we need much less than we thought, we must appreciate and be grateful for what we have, and that we must go inward for true self-love & worthiness. cheers to being proud and loving ourselves.. & cheers to a New Year coming very soon. may we all grow, evolve and change for the better
