We are still recovering from the skunk attack but the gardens are full of product and flowers that really add to the farm. I must say that our dog is something of a vegetarian, always looking for the next vegetable to eat . She climbed up on the counter and eat plate of tomatoes, onions and peppers that had been fried up for supper. This has to stop! Ok then good for now

Today I am looking at the future and I see that we now have all of our seeds in the ground. That does not mean that my work is done. I will be spending today and tomorrow with my tank sprayer putting fertilizer on the plants. The feature of the fertilizer that we use is that it can be sprayed on the ground or on the plants directly. What this means is that the material is very flexible in its application. We have tomatoes small and large but what ever type you like there is a uniform consistency to them. They are all extremely good, full of flavour, hard but fresh, full of plant sugars that makes them sweet and juicy. So there you have it. Our ref peppers will be available this week too, possibly sweet corn, beans, lettuce (many different colours) egg plant, and char. See you on Saturday

Back to the Market, By Jacqueline Johnson "We’ve been vendors at the Guelph Farmer’s Market for almost 45 years. Market gives rhythm to our lives. The beat starts in January when we wonder when that seed catalogue from Stokes will arrive. It’s a slow intermittent beat. Winter deepens, As February freezes our doors shut and we chip away the ice, one of us now wonders where we put the catalogue while the other can’t remember if it ever came."... We are looking at the land and thinking that it is time that people started to get more familiar with what makes us different. Here I am speaking of fertilizer and what it can and often what it does not do for the plants. I speak of all plants veg, flower and tree. We use liquid Crop Fuel and it is amazing, and it happens to be like that as it has many features. In addition to the base of fish waste it has a micronutrient package to add bacteria to the soil and that makes th...e fertilizer more effective as the bacteria help the plants absorb the food. These biostimulants are not present in any commercial fertilizer you find in a nursery. In addition the Crop Fuel has added mineralization as well that replaces or adds to trace elements in good soil. This also makes is not found in commercial products. This product is for farmers that want to support a local company that is Canadian owned. So here is the sum of the differences. Our products are healthier and have a higher nutrient content than anything you can buy in a grocery store. The grocery store has a base for a product to be on the shelf and that is the margin it provides to the store’s bottom line. Our bottom line is that we want to improve your life style as well as have a bottom line. These things are actually compatible See more

Hi to you all Today we have snow and our lettuce has been protected so that the process of germination can continue. This is a very difficult time of the year as the weather is up and down which can mean that damage can be the result. I am basically on hold for the short term but the good news is that our new cultivating equipment is here and ready to go so as soon as we have some improvement in the weather the flower gardens will by turned and early seeds planted. There is so much to do!
