The volunteer organizing committee is doing a super job at preparing a safe and festive experience for all. Just built something I've been wanting to for awhile. A greenhouse for the hens. It's attached to their coop. With the dustbath in the centre, it's practically a chicken spa. And it cost zero dollars. All the wood is small diameter dead conifers cut from our woods, and the plastic is some leftover greenhouse plastic gifted us from Juniper Farm, who have been keeping their hens in a greenhouse for years, and inspired me for this idea. Still need some sun to come out and melt the snow inside it, then I'll post some follow-up photos of the hens hopefully sunning themselves inside it on a cold winter's day.

Although the market was, um, a little 'different' this year, you walked the talk and showed up, week after week to support your local farmers and artisans. Thank you for contributing so generously to this humble farming endeavour. You are the ones who inspire us to keep going, to improve and to contribute what we can, in our ow...n ways. We need a few weeks to re-stock (literally) and build an online ordering system. Home deliveries are coming in November. In the mean time, the farm stand remains open four days a week for now, and our granola can be found in many stores in Ottawa, Chelsea, Wakefield, etc. Le marché de Wakefield fut un succès cette année, malgré les nouveaux règlements et le manque d'ambiance festive. Mais vous étiez là, à chaque semaine ! Merci, merci, merci ! Nous allons prendre quelques semaines pour se rattraper sur la production de beurre d'érable et pour construir un magazin en ligne. Nous allons offrir des livraisons à domicile en novembre et décembre.
