Fire Prevention Week is aimed at educating everyone about the simple but important actions they can take to keep themselves and those around them safe in the workplace. Fire safety should take place year-round, but the enhanced attention it gets during this week can help employers get the message across. #firepreventionweek #firesafety #firstgeneral

This year has forced all of us to pay extra attention to how we handle health, safety and potential risks in the workplace. Everyone should set aside some time this month to talk about your responsibilities as an employer or an employee. Personal Protective Equipment has always been required for many jobs, but now that we are dealing with the coronavirus you may need to further educate yourself and your team. With a solid understanding of what should be done you are ensuring the well-being of your staff, your customers, your delivery people and more. Should you or your company wish to learn more about the proper health & safety protocols, contact Angela Veri at [email protected].

Most of us can't wait to get outside and celebrate the long weekend, but you should always consider any potential risks to your home or your family. Ensure that your barbeque is clean, level and that there are no propane leaks. If you are able to have a fire in your fire pit, never leave it unattended and never let the flames grow too large. As for fireworks, we recommend that you leave that to the professionals! We wish you all a very happy and safe Victoria Day! #maylongweekend #victoriaday #homesafety #firstgeneral
