In the article we talk about how advisors can use their website to grow their business. We are grateful to the advisors that choose us to be their content and website provider and giving us the opportunity to grow with them. Thank you to the Globe and Mail for shining a spotlight on Financial Tech Tools.

I have to say it, my memory is not as good as it use to be, age kinda does that to you but what I do remember is that I loved having a cheat sheet which is why we created the 2020 Financial Cheat Sheet for Employees. The way we created this was based around our Financial Checklist (below and if you want to read the whole article, you should totally check it out: https://financialtechtools.ca/financial-planning-checklist/ ) So as our Christmas gift for all our newsletter subsc...ribers. You can get your own branded version. F-R-E-E. Please send us your logo, your name, title, phone number, email address and website address so we can brand it to you. We also might need a little bit of patience since it might take a little while to make your own free version. https://financialtechtools.ca/2020-financial-facts/

As a business owner, I’ll admit, when we started Financial Tech Tools, it was crazy. I’ll confess, I’m still a little crazy but now I can consider some more serious stuff like Salary vs Dividend. As a business owner, we have the ability to pay salary, dividends or a combo of both which can be complicated. So for our advisors, we’ve put together an article and infographic that outlines the advantages and disadvantages to both. In the article and infographic we look at persona...l tax, corporate tax, RRSP, CPP and EI. As usual, we also advise that before any decision is made that you always consult an accountant. They love the numbers. P.S. We are working on a salary vs dividend calculator, but it’s taking longer than we thought so when it’s out, we’ll let you know. https://financialtechtools.ca/salary-vs-dividend/

We have created year end tax tips for business owners from a financial advisor’s perspective. Advisors can provide this to their business owner clients, prospects and accountants to help with corporate year end tax planning. In the article, we assume that the corporate year end is December 31st, however this is useful for whenever the business year end comes up. For some business owners, this may be the first year their business is experiencing the new passive investment income regime and TOSI rules, therefore we recommend that advisors connect with the business owner and accountant to ensure that effective tax planning is happening. https://financialtechtools.ca/2019-year-end-tax-tips-bo/
