If you've ever experienced a catch-and-cook whilst on a fishing trip before, you know that the food is typically the best part of the day, and the time spent around cooking, eating, and telling lies is were all of the memories are made. Assembled by our great friend WTF (Will the Farmer) and with the helping hands of many other amazing people, we successfully and collectively created a day that will not only live forever, but will be relived by us and many others for years to come. Tip of the hat to: Humminbird Clam Outdoors Icebound Excursions
The memories that we get to take with us are the best part of the experience. Only a couple of weeks ago, we set out on an adventure that our close friend Will had floating around in his head for some time. Organizing was complicated but the goal was simple: good people, good food, and fishing. Enjoy this selection of photos and wait eagerly for the full video/vlog to hit tomorrow! Preview up on our Instagram stories. ... Thanks to all who made this day the best: The Crew Clam Outdoors Humminbird Icebound Excursions See more
!RECIPE BELOW! So we have had some requests to produce the recipe for this thing, so here it is! We might also start by adding that we keep things pretty simple around here. First off, you need wood. Firewood. And not just any firewood, you need something that smells like the forest. Don’t go using any old chunk of old soggy aspen you have laying around, be respectful and use your head. If the pieces of wood you select happen to smell like the forest you’re currently surround...ed by, you’ve made the best possible choice. This is what we did here. Next, grab your slab of venison. Sure you can use any wild game, why not! For this, we used a whole sirloin, split down the middle to increase seasonable surface area and also decrease cook time. Season the outside of that meat liberally with some good salt (if you use that iodized stuff, you’ll get a kick in the shin), fresh pepper, if interested then maybe a little smoked paprika and potentially rub it down with some garlic, but we want the flavours of the meat and woodsmoke to do most of the talking. Once you’ve turned your beautiful firewood selection into an awesome fire, get that meat over the coals and cook it. Don’t overcook it either. Im sure you’ve been over this many times with your other outdoors friends, and the one who says don’t overcook your wild game insistently is the right person to listen to. I don’t like the taste of deer mea... well thats because you overcooked it... we don’t like that taste either! Now that the meat is cooked perfectly, let it rest up for a bit, and then slice it thin so that it can be folded onto a nice toasted bun. Once it lands on the bun, you’ll want to top the warm meat with a mild cheese, some quality dijon or grainy mustard, and we added a little shot of mayo. The primary condiment however was caramelized onions that we cooked low and slow in some olive oil. Once things started to get gooey and brown, in went a shot of some homegrown Canadian maple syrup and one or two solid glugs of an Apple whiskey (Crown Royal in this case). Light up that whiskey to burn off the bewz, stir it around a little bit, and you got yourself one of the best tasting sandwich toppers you’ve ever made. To recap, what you’ll need is: -Awesome wood. Don’t use the not awesome stuff -The ability to actually build a fire and the patience to wait for some coals -Meat. Preferable from a wild harvest, but you can use anything. Not squid tho, don’t use that. -Olive oil, Onions, maple syrup and whiskey for the caramelized onions -Salt and pepper -A mild cheese that melts nicely -REAL Mustard and mayo -A bun, or a few if you have friends -Eat it and take a few selfies just before you do that. So you’ll need a smartphone. See more

Floating in the most peculiar way.
Play safe with your phones on the ice this season, or may just learn a few retrieval techniques! Last winter, we rolled out on the ice with a crew with the mission to recover Ian Krahn iPhone, that he had dropped whilst ice-fishing a week prior, from the bottom of a frozen Lake Winnipeg. Catch the captivating (or maybe annoying?) story of brotherhood, and share with us any stories of your cellular devices that were once surrounded by air, and now lay surrounded by water. WARNING: You may find this video enjoyable, or, you may find yourself wondering why these silly fellows wasted a day recovering some electronic device. But deep down you'll know the answer.
Thanks to all of you cool people, we are pretty well out of hoodies, but we have some great tees and hats ready and waiting for you! All week you can pick up any three items you like and get 30% Off. Just enter BOXINGWEEK in the promo code spot and the magic will happen.

To the true North, to the strong, and to the freedom to do this! Happy 150 Canada.
About a year ago we had one of the best times out on the water imaginable. One of the guys thought it would be cool to catch all of the big ones and boast his catch in front of the camera.
They said there was gold in the Canadian Shield, and we found it. #PanningForGold #GoldForThePan
When you get a long weekend and the weather isn't all that you had hoped it would be, it's still a long weekend.

Fishing under a sunny sky doesn't offer the same pleasing audio sensation as one filled with a million little drops of water.
None of the good camping spots have level ground with electrical hookup for an extra fee.

Refuse to respect the land, and the land will refuse to respect you. More than this is a bold move by Patagonia, it is one that is necessary. Hats off.
This is a great win for the Canadian bison population.

Everyone saw the phone fall into the net on the camera. After tediously searching, this was the first attempt at pulling the iPhone from the depths...
After 8+ hours of bickering and contemplating, the most surreal thing happened as this phone now sits topside after a full week in the depths of murky Lake Winnipeg. #ProjectiFind
FOUND IT!!!!!!! Next step the retrieval !!!
Tomorrow we embark on one of the most important journeys into the outdoors, possibly of all time. Last weekend, someone, who will remain unnamed at this time, had a mishap with a giant body of water, which resulted in the loss of a brand new 128 Gig iPhone 7 through a 10" hole cut through the ice. Being a crew who have deep roots in tradition but also embrace modern technology, we thought that there was no better way to rally a group of passionate outdoorsmen together, crea...tively brainstorm different methods of retrieval, and put into action a rescue plan for this sweet modern day device. Follow along with us tomorrow on our adventure and please share your thoughts on how useless it is for us to waste our time finding an iPhone on the bottom of a frozen lake, because you think Androids are clearly better and feel the need to tell us by how much better they really are. Here's to hoping that history is made tomorrow! Stay tuned. #ProjectiFind See more
Could this be the luckiest person alive?
"Under Armour got caught in a lie, and now they’re reaping the consequences." What are your thoughts on this? Making the decision to abandon your core audience definitely seems like a strange move. Did UA think that they were bigger and stronger than the hunting men and women that supported them? In one hand, it's kind of too bad to see this happen to a major player in the industry, but in the other it's nice to see that there is an open door for the smaller guys to grow, and most of all, it's nice to see an example of the strength of the community.

Eating Partridge poop?! Okay, so if you had to do it for survival purposes, this stuff can be quite plentiful and easy to find... but a delicacy? Check it out. munchies.vice.com/en/articles/this-shit-is-a-delicacy
