I have #osteoporosis. I was frightened even to walk and couldn’t live a normal life. Taoist Tai Chi arts have returned my sense of self and given me power over my life. #taoisttaichi helps me balance and stretch, creating a place for the bones to go. Without this practice I would be completely bent over, or in a wheelchair ~ Philomena @osteoporosiscanada #worldosteoporosismonth #taichi #taoism #fungloykok #findingharmony #findingstillness #cultivatingbalance #meditation... #movingmeditation #painreliefoptions #painrelief #caring Fung Loy Kok Institute of Taoism

Pain Relief: Caring for Ourselves, Caring for Others I have had #breastcancer twice, once before I began #taoisttaichi and once after. The first time I had difficulty with tightness, and range of motion. The second time my Taoist Tai Chi practice kept me supple and limber, and I felt strong, vital, alive and capable! I could accept my body. Doing Taoist Tai Chi arts is such a lovely feeling... ~ Mary... #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth #taichi #taoism #fungloykok #findingharmony #findingstillness #cultivatingbalance #meditation #movingmeditation Fung Loy Kok Institute of Taoism

I had surgery because of #lungcancer. The muscles, ribs and nerves were all involved and the deep #pain I experienced was indescribable. I was on the highest dose of narcotics and was considering assisted suicide. I began #taoisttaichi and, almost unbelievably, the pain went away. I got rid of all medications and I realised that I just need Taoist Tai Chi practice. Life is beautiful again! ~ Maria @canadiancancersociety #lungcancerawarenessday #taichi #taoism #fungloykok #...findingharmony #findingstillness #cultivatingbalance #meditation #movingmeditation #painreliefoptions #painrelief #caring Fung Loy Kok Institute of Taoism

PRIORITIZING HEALTH AND SAFETY Although physically apart, participants across the country have continued to deepen their Taoist Tai Chi practice at home. Many participants have come together online to practice chanting and to share the teachings of Fung Loy Kok Institute of Taoism. We have also come together to discuss our learning on a local, regional and national level. When we are ready to physically be together again, our practice at home will have helped us cultivate ou...r strength, balance, calm, resilience, compassion and joy. Our practice also helps us find patience. We are aware that the COVID-19 situation continues to develop and can change rapidly. We will always make the safety of the entire community as well as all our participants our highest priority, particularly as there are many who are vulnerable. Due to this we will take our time before resuming activities. We are working diligently every day to develop and care for our organization. This year is our 50th anniversary and over the years we have built a solid foundation. When the time comes that we are physically together again, we look forward to being stronger than ever. https://www.taoist.org/covid-19/

Lorsque je pratique un mouvement de #taichitaoiste seule dans ma cour, je pense à tous les autres participants qui font la même chose au même instant dans 26 pays sur la planète. Je me sens alors unie, je ne suis plus seule. When I practice a #taoisttaichi alone in my yard, I think of all the other participants doing the same thing at the same time in 26 countries around the world. A soap bubble floats on a lake for minutes at a time, responding to the swirling action of the air. Yet the bubble seems perfectly still: no up, no down, no left or right, no front, no back. This stillness in movement is striking. Unperturbed by ripples in the water, perfect soap bubbles sailed across the lake. Despite their inherent fragility, I see a structure that is strong yet light, full yet empty. The bubbles float for what seems like an eternity to finally reach the other shore. I’m influenced by this sight. I think about moving quietly with #taoisttaichi, balanced, light and responsive. ~John Tomas #taoism #taichi #findingharmony #findingstillness #cultivatingbalance Fung Loy Kok Institute of Taoism

Over the summer I was blowing bubbles with my 5-year-old daughter on the shores of a country lake. To my surprise, the bubbles floated onto the water without popping. Pain Relief: Caring for Ourselves, Caring for Others My name is Bruce & I have had arthritis for over 25 years. I have two types, osteo and psoriatic-like rheumatoid, which have caused pain in every joint in my body. Taoist Tai Chi practice has changed my life. Pain is seriously reduced; I can move again; I can garden; my relationships are better! I also love the way it calms me.

The Dipper Constellation Ceremony is an important Taoist tradition that takes place on the 1st and 15th days of the lunar month. Through #chanting and ceremony, #togetherapart we express our intention to bring health and longevity to the whole world, and especially to those close to us and to ourselves. The items in the photographs symbolize the teachings contained in the Northern Dipper Sutra which we will be chanting on these special days. #chantingfortheworld #taoism #taic...hi #taoisttaichi #findingharmony #findingstillness #cultivatingbalance Fung Loy Kok Institute of Taoism

~ Ghislaine We cultivate peacefulness in ourselves as we do our vegetable garden. We sow seeds, we water. Fertilizing the soil, watering. After a while, we weed, we water again, and finally after all these efforts, we reap! My practice of #taoisttaichi and my journey through the Fung Loy Kok Institute of Taoism made me understand that tranquility can be learned, that it can be cultivated, that it is part of our training and that we must be disciplined to achieve it. And the great pleasure of the harvest is that it is permanent, it is possible to share it and everyone benefits from it. ~Ghislaine #taoisme #taoism #tranquillité #findingstillness #trouverlharmonie #findingharmony #meditationenmouvement #movingmeditation Fung Loy Kok Institute of Taoism
