It’s funny. When is started working as a Power Skating coach with Hockey Manitoba, almost 30 years ago, I was coaching figure skating professionally as well. I developed a program, over years of trial and refinement for hockey players, that includes figure skating skills like one foot skulling, deep edges, 3 turns, brackets, mohawks and proper backwards skating. These are very basic and fundamental skills for any skater, but especially hockey players. Over the years, people have looked on from the stands and picked and plucked my sessions apart because the skills were too basic, yet a quick search of YouTube, TikTok and local, well known, hockey camp website reveals that NHL, AHL and Junior players are now being brought back to the same basic skills. Seems I’m not such a Mad Skating Scientist after all!

Here is a great new Facebook game that will enrich lives, rather than just fill everyone’s spare time. It’s called... The COVID19 FILL A BUCKET LIST Sit down,... as an individual, couple or family and make a list of Random Acts of Kindness that will help fill your friends, family or a complete strangers bucket. It doesn’t have to involve money or a donation, it can be as simple as picking up garbage on your daily walk, grabbing groceries for a neighbour if you are leaving the house, raking your neighbours lawn while you rake your own, whatever fills your bucket too. You don’t have to complete the list chronologically or even make it a certain number of RAK’s long, just keep track, do one every day and feel free to post your RAK’s so we all can share the joy! Now share this post so everyone can start Filling Buckets!!
