Since the fall of 2019, Budget Blinds of Guelph and Kitchener has donated over $2500 through their Buck a Blind program to Food4Kids Guelph. They have adjusted their program to "Twoonie per Shade" as of April 2021. We are so thankful to owner Mark Riffer and his team for their ongoing generosity and constant support to help us close the weekend gap! TD Bank Group has generously donated $2,500 to Food4Kids Guelph. Their on-going support has been critical to the sustainability of our program. During COVID we cannot deliver our weekend food bags to the schools. We have been sending the families in our program Grocery Gift Cards, $15 per child each week, to help close the hunger gap during this increasingly difficult time. Our program has grown to 20 schools in both school boards, 316 children and 141 families. Food4Kids Guelph is 100% self-funded and volunteer-run. Without the support of community-minded organizations like TD we could not continue to feed hungry children in our community. #food4kidsguelph #food4kids #connectingcommunity

On December 22nd, the retirees at Guelph’s Village By the Arboretum held the world’s smallest and most charming Santa Parade. Their elves handed out candy canes and collected over $3700 donations for Food4Kids Guelph! Their kindness and generosity fills our hearts. #food4kidsguelph #connectingcommunity

"The Mask Lady of Fairway Lane" This summer, Jeanette Kjiertinge, a resident of Fairway Lane in Guelph, with the help of her daughter, designed and began sewing PPE masks to protect people from COVID-19 exposure. Jeanette is a retired kindergarten teacher, with three daughters and three grandchildren. She is a very active senior. She decided to make the masks and sell them for $10 each with all the money being donated to Food4Kids Guelph. She also designed the masks appropri...ately sized for children, men and women. Jeanette offered the masks to parents and grandparents for children for free. By the end of the summer she made over 150 adult masks and has donated $1500.00 to Food4Kids Guelph. Many children’s masks were donated as well. We are so grateful to this wonderful, creative and energetic lady for starting this initiative and selecting Food4Kids Guelph as the beneficiary of this great community service. Thank you Jeanette! #food4kidsguelph #connectingcommunity

In November, the Rotary Club of Guelph South will be auctioning approx. 100 Nutcrackers to raise money for Food4Kids Guelph, Habitat for Humanity, and other Rotary-supported projects. Leading up to the end of the auction, community members have a chance to invite one of the Nutcrackers, Merlin, to visit their garden for a photo-op, and the photo with the most likes, shares, and comments on Rotary Guelph South Nutcrackers will get to keep him! PENSKE GUYS ARE THE BEST! When a donor kindly offered a chest freezer to Food4Kids Guelph, we had no way to move it. No problem! Will and Josh from Penske Truck Rental in Cambridge stepped up to the rescue. On their own time, they picked it up (literally - strong guys!), carried it down two flights and delivered it to us, ’supervised’ by Terrie. Thank you, Penske! #food4kidsguelph #connectingcommunity
