Missing Persons: Bow Island/Foremost RCMP are requesting the community's help in locating Mark Jensen of Foremost, Alberta. On November 11, 2020 RCMP conducted ...a search of his property which did not result in locating Mark. They followed up on November 15 which again did not result in locating him. County of Forty Mile and area is under a winter storm watch. The weather forecast is calling for rain mixed with snow as well as a drop in temperature. Road conditions can deteriorate very quickly. Please give yourself lots of extra time if you must travel. Please be safe this weekend! If you do see our first responders out, please slow down so they can get home safely!

The County of Forty Mile Fire Department is recommending extreme caution until precipitation comes Friday. Conditions are favorable for easy ignition and rapid spread rates in all grassland fuels. The Fire Department is encouraging resident to ensure that all burns conducted last week are examined and stirred to ensure full extinguishment. Burning is not to be conducted when winds exceed 15 km/hr. Please call 911 immediately if an out of control fire is identified.

Bylaw 12/2020 states that Fire Permits are not required in the County of Forty Mile from November 1 until April 1. Residents must monitor and control their fires and adhere to the conditions of the Bylaw. Contact the County Office at 403-867-3530 with further questions.

Update: All units are back in service. Firefighters are on scene at a vehicle rollover on highway 879 and township road 82. Please drive slowly and follow detours. Thank you.
