The Liberals wanted to cut help for people relying on CERB by $400, we fought back and got them to reverse their cut. When we convinced them to make sick days available, they made them too hard to get, we fought back. Now millions of people won’t be forced to go to work sick.
New Brunswick’s First Female MLA Dies at age 91 Moncton, NB It is with profound sadness we share that our mother, Brenda Robertson, has passed away at the age of 91. Brenda died peacefully Wednesday, at her home in Monarch Hall, Riverview comforted by family and staff. Right now, we are focusing on reaching out to our family and many friends and supporters. Mom lived a rewarding life which we will celebrate at a later date, when the appropriate arrangements can be made, ...offered son Doug and daughters Leslie and Tracy. Our family, like thousands of others across this country, will do our best to grieve during this unprecedented time. Brenda Robertson was New Brunswick’s first female MLA elected and the first female provincial cabinet minister. She served in several ministerial portfolios, most notably Minister of Health at which time she developed and implemented the ExtraMural Program. In 1984, she was called to the senate by Prime Minister Brian Mulroney where she served until her retirement in 2004. Brenda has received numerous recognitions, but perhaps her proudest was being appointed to the Order of New Brunswick in 2004 and the Order of Canada in 2008. - Doug Robertson See more
