Hello all, As restrictions lift and summer heats up we have a couple of friendly reminders. For the present time we will not be putting the toilets back in place until we have permission from the DNR.... Please remember to respect our beaches. Puppies please remind your people to take their baggies of puppy presents with them when they leave the beach. Do not leave garbage around, respect our beautiful beaches. Please stay off the dunes, respect the wildlife who rely on these spaces. Many people opt to drive out on to the beach, if you do drive on to the beach, please remember to respect speed limits. And remember there are children and pets running about. Please respect each other, Mother Nature and our fellow beings. Welcome to summer :)

While the aquaculture company Cermaq has recently given up the idea of developing open pen fish farms along our coast, there are others still actively involved. If you would like to add your voice in opposition to open pen fish farms, FOCB has a limited number of signs available for $10 (to cover costs). If interested, call 902-688-1832, and we can arrange appropriate socially distanced pick up.

Hello all beach visitors, puppies and their peoples, this is a seasonal reminder that the trash bins are CLOSED for the season. PLEASE do not leave your trash, doggie doo bags etc on top of or on the ground front of the bins located at either end of the beach. There is no collection at this time of year, so leaving the trash piled up there is almost like just throwing it on the beach. (winds do blow) Please be prepared to take any trash you create home with you when you leav...e the beach in the off season. Leave foot prints not trash :) Thanks!

Thanks to all the members who turned out for our annual AGM tonight. A special thank you to Ariel Smith of Coastal Action for her informative Plastics presentation. We will be adding it to our website for those who were unable to attend tonight to take a gander at it. We discussed many things, including the speed limit on the beach and the road, and I will be posting the minutes on the website later this wee. I really want to encourage all of our members to contribute to the conversation.
