Did you know a beluga whale's snot is an important research tool? Yes, you read that correctly! Snot, boogers, a bat in the cave whatever you want to call it, that’s what researchers are collecting to learn more about beluga whales. They do this because a whale’s snot contains hormones that tell us their stress levels, and may even reveal the potential causes of their stress. : Penny Hunter

Fun fact: A beluga whale consumes approximately 27 kilograms (60 lbs) of food per day. If that doesn’t seem like much to you, 27 kilograms of spaghetti is enough to feed 600 people! : Doug Ross

Many people don’t realize that summer in Churchill is actually when polar bears first return to the area. After months of roaming the frozen Hudson Bay hunting ringed seals, polar bears make their way back to Churchill in early to mid-summer once the sea ice begins to melt. : Steven H. Walton #FindTrueNorth

This may be the coolest thing we've seen all week! The LEGO model of Polar Bears International's broadcast studio, otherwise known as Tundra Buggy One, was engineered by polar bear enthusiasts (and family members of Polar Bears International staff) Caleb and Ella Krouse. We provide Tundra Buggy One to Polar Bears International to use throughout polar bear season in Churchill. It's outfitted with tools and equipment that enable polar bear scientists to study bears and broa...dcast live from the remote tundra. We look forward to being able to check this out in person next year at Polar Bears International House in Churchill, but in the meantime - congrats to Caleb and his daughter Ella for being so innovative! #SaveOurSeaIce #RebuildTheWorld #Lego #FindTrueNorth

Did you know a group of polar bears is called a celebration? That's why we are celebrating #polarbearweek!

Frontiers North Adventures 13.08.2020

Today is the start of #PolarBearWeek! Right now polar bears are waiting for the sea ice to freeze so they can head out to hunt seals. It's the annual polar bear migration along the coast of Hudson Bay and we want to bring attention to the importance of sea ice to polar bears- and why we must take action on climate change. ...
