The Phoenix Volunteer Club is bringing Christmas to Natalie Small and her family today at 3 pm Here’s the details:... Santa will be pulling up on his motorcycle, in his full, Christmas Red Santa suit. He’s the real deal, complete with his real beard, cherry cheeks and the twinkle in his eyes. Mrs Claus will be waiting on the front lawn, by the beautiful Pink pre-lit Christmas tree, for Santa to arrive. The community is invited to purchase gifts for the family to enjoy, and walk up and place them under the tree and wave to the family that’ll be watching from the comfort of their living window and front porch. I’ll be posting their Christmas Wish List tomorrow. We are providing a home cooked Christmas Dinner for the family To avoid any traffic jambs or any violations, were going to ask that you park in the Legion parking lot, or at the CDC. A member of The Phoenix Volunteer Club will be at each location and will guide people up the block to Santa and Mrs Claus. **We cannot stress enough the demand for social distancing protocols to be in place. The safety and health of our members, and of the rest of the community, is of our utmost importance. Natalie’s 7th birthday is October 18th, I’m sure she’d love a birthday card, a bottle of nail polish, or something small that lets her know that we’re all behind her in this incredible fight she’s been fighting We will have a birthday wrapped box for you to put the cards into. Just a reminder today is a special date for Miss Natalie and her family. An early Christmas and birthday for a little Miss & her family. This note from jeanette Johnston at Phoenix Volunteers last night. The turkey is on and is cooking and will be ready by 7 am. I’ll cook the rest of the dinner tomorrow for them. Apple Pie, Pumpkin Pie & lots of whipped cream is ready for the family to enjoy too. ... Santa stopped by and picked up his Suit and we’ve located his lost belt and Christmas bells The Safety vests are packed and ready for the club members My Face mask is in the car My New Ugly Christmas dress fits, but’s a bit snug Presents for Natalie and the rest of the family, are wrapped and are by the front door Dessert tray is made for our volunteers And I’m rocking my new Christmas leg warmers that I bought just to wear with my Ugly Christmas dress, as I enjoy a cup of Sugar Cookie Tea before bed. Due to the recent outbreaks of Covid in the area we at the bottle depot are requesting only one person per table and one person in the lineup for your protection. We are excepting Express orders at the door. If you do not have labels we can take your phone number and name and get your labels for you or You may label your containers and we will take the bags in at the door.. Remember these are small clear bags or blue recycle bags six per family per day. Glass must be in a ...box - one label her order not per box. We will put them on a trolley and process them within 15 minutes of your delivery. Your bags will be processed within 48 hours. For those of you who might have a large load from the summer or maybe a years worth and our hours don’t work for you, please contact us for an appointment and we will make a space for you. We will be masked for your protection. Please feel free to drop off your small clear or blue bags for Express. We will gladly receive prelabeled bags at the door. Glass must be in small boxes with only one label for all the boxes of glass. Glass will ge processed with in about 15 minutes of delivery and credited to your account. We continue to be open 11-4 Mon-Sat. We have set up our door person to except your Express orders if you are immune compromised, elderly, disabled or have small children which makes it difficult for you to sort your products. We are here for you! To use the Express you need small clear or blue recycle bags and small boxes for your glass. We will meet you at the door so that you do not have to come in if it’s busy or you just don’t want to come in. For others, we have ...three sorting tables inside and three tables outside to serve you better during this summer. (With the rain we are only putting out one table outside.) Just a reminder that you do not have to remove caps or tabs from your containers. We look forward to seeing you soon! Don’t wait for the snow to fall & end up leaving them for another year. Natalie is our latest donations project. We will be accepting bottles & cans as well as any cash donations for her every day Mon-Sat 11-4. If these times do not work for you and you need a special time for drop off- please contact Karen @ 250-262-8633. We have also opened an account for Bob & Laura Ross, who were in a terrible motor cycle accident. Account #313. Feel free to donate your presorted orders to their account. Both families will appreciated any support you can offer them.

We continue to be open Mon-Sat 11-4. We have three sorting inside and three more outside for your convenience. Presorted orders move very quickly through the lineup. Express has been set up for those who cannot sort due to physical disabilities or parents who have small children which makes it difficult for them to go do. See details at www.returnit,ca/express.

We will have extended hours tomorrow, Saturday, July 11. 10am-5pm. We have 3 tables inside for sorting small orders and 3 tables outside for large sorts. Pre-sorted orders are quick and easy and process quite quickly. Normally our donations go to the support of a local sick child, however we are taking note that some of out local seniors need a hand. This week we were privileged to give the Cayford family several large checks from our donations and ADF, who have gracious...ly allowed us to sort their bottles & use the cash to help Adaura’s family pay for her medications. This weeks donations will go to Peace Seniors Connect & Care along with Amanda’s No Frills and many other local businesses, to help with provide meals and essential supplies to some of our local seniors who need an extra hand right now. Please don’t throw out your bottles, cans or juice boxes- they can help locals in need. See more

We are asking the public for assistance: Recently people have been stealing our pallets from in back of our depot which makes it very difficult for us to do our work. I realize because they’re outside some people think we don’t need them but we do! Our work depends on the use of pallets. Please always ask before taking pallets from any business. I’m sure if they don’t need them they would be glad to have you take them away.

We are open today 11 to 4 in spite of the fact that the barricades are up in front of our building due to past flooding. You may enter the city parking lot and the front of the building by way of the back Alley and 102nd St. You must come past the barricade that says the road is closed and come up the alley or you can come up the alley by Hub Insurance 100 St Street.

It is with sad hearts we received this message this morning from the Cayford Family. We are sadly letting everyone know that Adaura has finally left her broken body to go run and play soccer again!!! She took her last breath at 11:55pm surrounded by love!! She fought a long fight!!!! For some reason we kind of knew it was time to pick her up and hug her!!! Our last group family hug of the 6 of us!!! We had time to celebrate her 10th birthday all together!! Now she is hap...py and running around again!! It’s a special time for all of us to hold on tight to each other! Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers!! Babe we love you so much and we will celebrate you everyday !!! We miss your laughter already!!!

Our hearts go out to the Cayford family this weekend. This is the last post from Adaura’s mom this morning: Good day to you all !! I can’t believe I am saying this today... Sadly our little beautiful smart brave Adaura Has started her journey to rest finally she can let go, she can get out of her body where she has been trapped for the last 10 months She has fought hard and now her body is tire!! We will keep you guys posted Please let our family hold her tight in privacy and keep phones calls for later WE LOVE YOU baby girl!!!! Funds collected for Adaura at FSJ Bottle Drop (FSJ Returnit) will help to pay for her medications and them to pay to put her to rest.

Audora this week...

Update on Audora: Such a beautiful baby girl!! She has been having a hard time this days She was accepted to take the new drugs so yay! Today has been her 14 days taking it! She was doing great on Thursday and Friday ... Thank God she was able to go with Angelina graduation stage walk to get her diploma! On Saturday she woke up in a very bad place!! Vomiting all day without knowing who she was! She didn’t know she couldn’t walk She couldn’t talk and she wasn’t coherent by 4 Fighting to get up!! We increased her steroids and she finally woke up! But still not really there We finally had a talk with our oncologist and because Sunday she was a little better they are saying she was having seizures So what we though was her wanting to get up her arms and legs going crazy all over in the air and getting scared it was small brain seizures probably cause by inflammation in the brain They don’t think it’s the cancer growing bigger Finger crossed her MRI is for end of July!! After her birthday that is on the 26! Not book yet they will phone us soon with that!! See more

FYI did you know that all five cent items are now $.10 since November 2019? Also did you know that you do not have to remove the caps from any of your containers except beer bottles? This is progress so much better for our customers.

Finally a beautiful day after all that rain! The grass should be fresh, your gardens are calling you and your bottles are exposed! Don’t be afraid to bring those bottles in today. Don’t let the lineup scare you. We only let people in to the registers one at a time. There are three inside sorting tables and one outside. We will process Express and pre-sorted orders very quickly. We look forward to serving you from 11-4 each day Mon-Sat. Sorting tables start to shut down at 3:30pm.

FSJ Return It will be open 11-4 Tuesday -Saturday this week. Pre-sorted orders will take priority. We will be limiting our sorting tables to three bags at a time when there’s a lineup. Large orders that need to be sorted are welcome to sort at their vehicle. We want to thank our customers for their patience. We will process you as quickly as possible. We are doing our best to keep our staff & customers are kept safe during these questionable times.

The Ere are 3 sorting tables inside and one outside to be used...the back of your vehicle works as well. Let us know how we can assist you while social distancing is in affect. Above all please don’t throw those bottles & cans away in the garbage or your blue bin ! They are worth $.10 - $.20 each, which means a lot to the family of a sick kid or a local sports team. If you drop them off to us at the depot, we will sort them & make sure your dollars help locally. Stay safe everyone!

The staff at Fsj return would like to thank all of our customers for their extreme patience during this time. We are limited to 4 customers inside the building at any one time. We are doing our best to keep two registers running at all times. We have two inside tables and One outside table available for sorting. If you are fortunate enough to have a pick up, you are welcome to take a trolly & some trays and sort in the the parking lot as well. Pre-sorted & Express orders will take priority.
