Hi all. Here is a great, short video that helps explain why veterinary clinics have been, and remain, so busy! https://www.youtube.com/watch

Hello all! It's been sometime since we've posted. Our summer was very busy and we are now getting set up for the winter months. Due to the layout of our building, we are unable to keep the safety of 6 feet, so we are still doing curbside pick-up. To make it even easier and faster, please call in advance with your order or prescription refill so we can make sure it's in stock and have it ready for when you arrive.... As colder weather rolls in, we will begin construction on a more "permanent" temporary shelter to cover the walkway and steps to help keep us safe through the winter months. More info to come as plans are completed. On another, important note, we want to remind everyone to "Choose Kindness". We understand that there is more stress in everyone's lives right now, it's a global issue and effects us all in many different ways. We do have a choice, however, on how we act and speak to our fellow humans. There has been an increase of rude and demanding behaviours towards the staff these last couple months and we want everyone to know that we stand behind our wonderful team 100%. Choose Kindness. Faster or better service will not be achieved through rude behaviour. We can do better! Thank you all so much for your patience and understanding to all employees and staff that work in the service industry. A smile goes a long way!

We are thrilled to introduce to you our new veterinarian, Dr. Natalie Dow! Dr. Dow joined our team early into the pandemic and we are very lucky to have her. With the new protocols in place, you may not get to meet her face to face until some sort of normalcy returns, however you will meet her voice when she calls to discuss your animal's issue. Natalie Dow grew up in Moncton, NB and graduated from Acadia University before moving to Calgary to complete her MSc. Her love of ...animals large and small then led her back to her Maritime roots where she graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary College in 2017. Natalie is passionate about working alongside owners to give their furry families members the best care possible and is very excited to be joining the Fundy team. During her time off you can find Natalie hiking with her husband, trying out new recipes, or curled up amongst her house plants with a book. Please welcome Dr. Dow with open (virtual) arms!

As a reminder, Fundy Animal Hospital is operating under a Closed-Door Policy. This is to ensure we are available to help our wonderful clients and fuzzy patients during this trying time. We are very fortunate to be here for you, but in order to do so, we must implement these changes as recommended by federal and provincial guidelines. Is this inconvenient? Yes. Does everything take longer? Yes. Do we ask for your patience and understanding during this time? YES! ... If you currently have an appointment scheduled and you, or someone you have been in contact with during the last 14 days, have traveled or you are currently feeling ill and/or show symptoms such as fever and respiratory illness, please follow the recommended 2-week self-isolation and call us at 634-8680. We will reschedule non-urgent appointments and provide alternate care for critical appointments. The Closed-Door policy includes: 1. Appointments. When you arrive, please call us, knock, or ring the doorbell. Once you knock or ring the doorbell, please step back to the mark to maintain the 6-foot distance. Someone will come out to meet you. If a room is free, we will take your pet inside and ask that you wait in the car. Once the appointment is over, communication will be provided through phone, documentation or face to face outside. For certain circumstances, we plan to implement technology to help facilitate patient care. 2. For food and prescription pickups, please call in advance to place your order. When you arrive, please call or ring the doorbell. Someone will bring your items to your car. 3. Payments. Credit card payments can be made over the phone. We can take debit and credit in person outside the clinic. We are trying to limit cash payments if possible. 4. The Closed-Door policy will be in effect for the next 4 weeks. This timeline may change as updated information becomes available. 5. Please stick to your scheduled appointment time. If you are late for your appointment, we may need to reschedule in order to maintain proper spacing of appointments. If you are early for your appointment, you will need to wait in your car until the scheduled time. If you have any questions, please contact us at 634-8680. Please be patient with the new process and longer appointment times. Thanks so much!

There is currently no evidence to suggest this virus is circulating in animals in Canada. There has been a lot of misinformation distributed about Covid-19 and pets. Currently, there is no evidence to suggest this virus is circulating in animals in Canada. Be kind, be alert and just treat your pet as a person.... Practice social distancing o While on a walk, keep yourself and your pets 2 meters (6 feet) from others Do not allow others to pet or handle your dog/animal Do not allow pet socialization with animals outside of your household o We don't handshake right now, they shouldn't rear-sniff It is possible that some types of animals can be infected with Covid-19, but there is no evidence that pets or other animals can spread the virus. There are still many unknowns about Covid-19 and this is an area that remains to be studied and understood. Until we know more, if you have been diagnosed with Covid-19 and have a pet: Try to avoid close contact with them o Do not snuggle or kiss them, or let them lick you, sit on your lap or sleep in your bed Practice good cough etiquette o Avoid coughing and sneezing on your animals Have another person or member of your household care for your animals if possible o If this is not possible, wash your hands before touching or feeding them Limit your animal's contact with other people and animals o This may mean keeping them indoors Remember, if you are unable to have someone else take care of your furry loved one, that's okay. Keep them inside and follow the above to the best of your ability. You're both in it together! I know that we all have the cutest pets, duh! I say it's time for a little levity, so let's show off some of the silliest photos we have of the cutest members of our families... To get started, this is Mack as a puppy, giving his best baby-toothed smile.
