Where is the real estate market headed? Well, because things are never cut & dried when to comes to predicting real estate trends, it's always best to examine some different perspectives in order to better understand the overall picture. For instance, on a national scale, you have CMHC calling for declines in 2020 followed by a projected recovery period beginning around mid-2021. Locally, the Niagara Association of Realtors recently released their monthly report which shows t...he "average price of homes sold in June 2020 was a record $538,946, rising 22.3% from June 2019." Should you choose to read the attached articles and aren't certain which way to lean after digesting the info provided, allow me to share a thought based on experience. During my thirty year career as a realtor I've experienced the many extremes of some volatile markets and if there is one thing I've learned, it's to expect the unexpected and to take the long-term view. There are no sure bets. You can read more on these two perspectives by following the attached links from CMHC and the Niagara Association of Realtors. Questions? Once upon a time it was believed electricity would become so cheap we wouldn't even need meters. Thus begat the electric baseboard and we all know how well that turned out. Now, proving history does indeed repeat itself, we are seeing conversations take place discussing the merits of electric heat, this time however, from an environmental perspective.
