Are you a busy mom who tries to do it all? From morning to night you literally do a million things. You get woken up by your alarm (aka your kids yelling HIIII MOMMY!!!)... Then it’s time to make breakfast for the kids. Get them dressed and ready for school. Then you work all day (while home schooling, making snacks and meals for the family, cleaning up, breaking up fights, cleaning up, giving hugs, changing the show on tv, etc) Then it’s time to make dinner, plan an evening activity, get kids ready for bed, tuck them in aaaaand collapse. By the end of the day you’re exhausted and can’t even think about what tomorrow will bring and how you’ll get through it. I’m here to tell you it doesn’t have to be this way!! If you feel like you’re doing all the things everyday and feel drained, what if you had someone to help you do all the things and make your life a little bit easier? Enter your partner or husband! Did you know that many times the reason moms do everything is because they are afraid to ask for help? This used to be me! I didn’t want to my husband feel like I was telling him what to do or felt bad that I couldn’t do it all. And guess what, when I had that mindset I made ZERO time for me. Why? Because I didn’t have any plus I had no energy left. Here’s what I did. I wrote down a list of alll the things I do in a day and then wrote out the things I needed and wanted to do more of that I wasn’t doing that I knew would help me feel better (working out, healthy meal prep, going to bed earlier, getting some solo time, etc) Then I had an open and honest conversation with my husband about how I was feeling and what I needed help with. And you know what he said? WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME SOONER? Of course I want to help take some things off your plate and help out! That day everything changed! Moms, stop running yourself ragged trying to prove to yourself that you can do it all! You don’t have to! Ask your partner for help and watch how good it feels (plus who doesn’t get turned on watching their husband vacuum?) What you should prioritize is your health, and if you aren’t doing this let me help! You have 2 days left to register for my 6 week MOM Program

CLIENT TESTIMONIAL: Kelli's story "I started working with Leslie in December 2020 through her 30 day reset program and was looking to continue my wellness journey when the program came to an end. Based on my positive experience with the 30 day reset program, I did not hesitate to join the PRIME Method to really commit to continuing my progress - and I'm SO glad I did! Before I started working with Leslie I was run down, anxious, eating poorly and felt exhausted even when I ha...d a decent night's sleep. As a busy, working mom of a 1 and 4 year old I needed a change. Over the 12 week course of working with Leslie and the PRIME Method I had so many "small" victories that have added up and have changed my habits and lifestyle dramatically. I am now consistently meal prepping and consciously eating healthy meals instead of picking off my kids plates or hurrying through a drive through. I am moving my body, established a nightly routine that has led to better sleep and am finally taking the time to fill my own cup so I can be the best version of myself for my family. What I enjoyed most about the program is that it's not a typical "diet and exercise" plan - it goes so far beyond that! I loved the Facebook Group and weekly video chats with an amazing group of ladies who were participating in the program alongside me. Hearing their triumphs and struggles from week to week often inspired me and Leslie's constant support and motivation was exactly what I needed to keep on track and commit to making these lifestyle changes. As moms we often take care of everyone else before ourselves, but if I could offer advice to any mom starting out with one of Leslie's programs it would be to commit to making these small changes for yourself and lean into the support of the PRIME community - you will not regret it!" I am so proud of this woman! Way to go Kelli! If you want to have the same results that Kelli did and feel more in control of your health, you have a few days left to register for my BRAND NEW 6 Week Healthy MOM Program! Message me for details and to save your spot!

Double tap and keep reading if you are struggling to take care of yourself but really want to feel better! You know what? I don’t blame you because life is NOT what is used to be anymore and THAT makes it super tough (especially as a mom) to make time for YOU! Remember the days when you would rush around in the morning getting ready for work and the kids ready for daycare or school?... Remember when you used to go to the gym to workout or do classes? Remember when you had some solo kids free time each day? Yah, sadly that’s not happening now Here we are a year later and not much has changed. Every week you keep telling yourself starting Monday that you will start working out again, cut carbs or aim to walk 10,000 steps and then after a couple weeks you’re not doing it. Again. And you feel like a failure. I don’t know about you but when my workout routine goes out the window it makes it harder to eat right and when I don’t eat well it makes me feel even worse. To make matters worse, since we spend so much time at home and don’t have any plans in the evening we spend more time sitting on the couch scrolling our phones and binge watching Netflix shows. Not good. I want you to close your eyes for a second and imagine how you want to feel: What would your perfect day be like? What is your daily routine? Ok now take some time to really think about what it’s going to take to get you there. Who do you need to become? Why is this so important to you? What do you need to do every single day starting now that will get you closer to that goal you have? Before you start creating a better life for yourself you’ve gotta start by building a stronger foundation. This is exactly why I’ve created my 6 week MOM Program so I can help busy moms do this and more. If you’re feeling stressed, exhausted, overwhelmed, out of shape, unmotivated, frustrated and have fallen out of a healthy routine for yourself this is the program for you. I’ve been where you are. I know what it feels like. And I’ve created this program in such a way that you cannot fail and you will be successful. You can do this. Let me show you how! Message me to save your spot

And this is exactly why I am determined to help allll the tired and busy moms (who want to be helped) so they can learn how to take better care of themselves in a sustainable way. I’ve been having so many conversations with moms lately who are telling me they have lost themselves, or they can’t get into working out at home or they miss being able to go to work and have time away from their kids. What’s been going on for over a year now really sucks!... I feel you, I see you and I hear you. And you know what is the only way to get you to feel yourself again? Admit you need help. And then figure out who you need to ask for help. And then, go get help! If you can’t get out of your head and into action, you need help. If you are struggling to make time for yourself, you need help. If you don’t know where to begin or what to do to feel better, you need help! If you are frustrated with yourself and tired of feeling this way, you need help! Ps it’s ok to ask for help when it comes to your health and fitness and it’s 1000% ok to invest in yourself aka join a program or hire a coach if you need to! If you currently struggling to make time for healthier habits- I can help! My 6 week MOM program for busy moms is THE program for you if you are super tired, stressed, out of shape and overwhelmed and need a push to get yourself moving. If you struggle to create or stick to a routine for yourself during these crazy times, need accountability and support from a group of amazing women just like you, I can help! Stop suffering alone and struggling to make it through the day. I know how it feels, I was you not long ago! And it is the worst feeling in the world when you feel stuck and unmotivated and have no idea how you got here. Don’t worry, I’ve got you! By being a part of my program you will learn simple ways to have more time in the day for you, have more energy and the best part-you will be proud of yourself for actually doing the things you’ve been putting off for way too long. Program starts May 3 and there are a few spots left... if you are ready to make a change in your life, message me privately or comment below I AM READY

3 WAYS I KEEP MYSELF MOTIVATED WHEN I DON'T FEEL LIKE WORKING OUT. Look, I’m not perfect. I don’t wake up daily with loads of motivation. Here are 3 things I do to keep myself from giving into 'being lazy' and stay on track. ... 1. I workout first thing in the morning before my mind wakes up and tries to tell me not to! (PLUS I have my workout clothes laid out right next to my bed.) 2. When I really feel some resistance I always ask myself "what's the benefit of me not doing my workout?" and then "how will I feel afterwards?!" and then I count down from 5...(54321) and I JUST DO IT! 3. I don't workout every single day! In fact I workout 4 out of 7 days and find I have had the greatest success by planning to do all my workouts during the week. That way I can fully rest and recharge on the weekends Do you need help with motivation and staying on track? Send me a private message with the word MOTIVATION and I’ll help you out.

6 tips to help you feel like you’ve won the day Do you go to bed at night feeling like you’ve won the day? If not, why not? You only get one chance to make your life the best it can be. Feeling like you’re winning at life or your days simply requires you to do your best, be kind to yourself, and accept that you’re not perfect. You can do anything you put your mind to. You’re winning at life if you stop to take a minute and look at everything you’ve achieved so far this year ...and feel proud. For me right now, when I am in bed before 10pm, have my meals prepped for the day the night before and get a workout done first thing in the morning makes me feel as though I have won the day! My main focus this year is doing a better job of balancing every area of my day and having enough time for the people and things that matter to me and having more fun! I am done feeling like time is slipping away from me, being on the hamster wheel and I am determined to get back in control of my life by winning my days with the help of some amazing coaches and my super supportive partner. Less about me and here are nine little ways you can feel like you’re winning your days right now: 1. MEAL PREP EVERYTHING There’s a reason so many people swear by meal prepping, it just takes the hassle out of thinking about lunch and dinner, and helps prevent mindless snacking. 2. MAKE A CUP OF TEA Tea can be used to help you get to sleep, to calm your nerves, to settle your stomach. A good cup of tea can do wonders, so boil a kettle and make yourself a cup. 3. ORGANIZE YOUR BAG OR YOUR SPACE One thing you need to do to feel more in control of your life is organize the spaces around you. 4. MAKE A DATE WITH YOUR PARTNER -‘nuff said 5. WORK ON YOUR PERSONAL GOALS You need to spend some time working on your personal goals and dreams, and actually track how much time you give to yourself. Dedicate some time every day to your goals and you’ll feel more fulfilled. 6. GO OUTSIDE Research shows that the more time you spend outdoors and with nature, the more productive and grounded you will feel. What are you going to start doing TODAY to feel like you’ve won the day?

Hey friend- So I know 2020 has been a year and I have been working hard to keep my clients (and myself) on track and reaching their goals but I feel extra generous right now with Christmas coming. This is why I thought it would be the PERFECT time to offer my coaching and help you for the next month at a super discounted rate but it will not mean you get discounted results.... It is my REDEFINE YOUR PRIME 30 Day RESET PROGRAM Let me tell you a little about this program. It’s fast: In 4 weeks you can begin to see real body transformation results, just like these clients... "The best part for me was definitely the way you explained food (and the meal plan). I liked that it wasn’t a diet (Atkins, keto, zone etc) just a focus on whole filling foods that are good for me. I have spent so many years avoiding foods, I barely knew what was good for me and what wasn’t. This 30 day challenge has totally changed that. My ability to make healthy food decisions is something I’ve never been able to. I feel like I have so many wins now, that even when I make a less healthy food choice, its not a big deal and that I can make a better choice next time. This challenge has shifted the way a look at food!! I've also lost 5 lbs since we started which is a great motivator that I'm making the right choices" -Patrice "I've really enjoyed the 30 days health and fitness challenge during the pandemic, it was just what I needed to get me moving again. I've also retrained myself to make better food choice. I feel less sluggish and have lots more energy which everybody says but I truly do! I still have long ways to go on this health and fitness journey but I think I FINALLY found MY right fit and that's Les. Thank you so much, you don't know how much this is changing my life. " Annick It’s flexible: You can do the workouts whenever it fits into your busy schedule. It’s fun: No heavy weight lifting or endless hours on treadmills we’ve completely made it simple to follow and you can do it from home. I will be doing some of the workouts live with you with various options to join the workouts. It is also a heck of a lot of fun. It feels great: You’ll have a ton more energy, vitality and passion you’ll feel tremendousnot tired! It works: In fact, it works so well, we guarantee it. We’ll set goals based on your current situation and then we’ll achieve those goals we’ll get you the results you want or we’ll refund every penny of your investment. That's how confident I am in this program. The 30 day Redefine your PRIME- Health and Fitness Reset Program is also affordable. But to make it even easier for you to give it a try, I’ve created a special rate of $79 valid until this Friday! Just comment below I AM IN! and as an added bonus I'll hop on a 30 minute call with you to make sure you're setup for success.

CLIENT SUCCESS STORY! Meghan came across my Facebook page and replied to one of my emails at the beginning of 2020. It was after a phone consult that she made the decision to commit to improving her health and wellness and she joined the PRIME Method in February. After having great success by following and being an active member of my 12 week program, she wasn't done yet so she transitioned to doing 1 on 1 online training and she continued to have some incredible breakthrough...s and great results. Even though our time together has come to an end, I am fully confident that she will continue on her fitness journey with a solid foundation and will keep at it using all the skills and habits she learned and mastered while we worked together over the last 9 months or so. I am so proud of you Meghan, thanks for trusting in me and hiring me as your coach! Check out her testimonial below (and how cute are her kids?!) "I started working with Leslie in February 2020, just as Covid moved in and I’m so grateful that our paths crossed as she helped me focus on things that were within my control! She helped me realize that gaining control of my health and fitness would not just positively impact my body, but my mind and emotions as well. My husband and children also thank you! And what’s even more amazing is we don’t even live in the same province! When you meet someone who inspires you and who celebrates the little wins with you, it doesn’t matter where you live! I have managed to meet my goal weight and can maintain it all on my own with no dieting or restricting! And when I do make a few slips, Leslie gives great advice on how to get back on track! I haven’t felt this hopeful for what the future holds and how amazing life is going to be!" Show her some love everyone!! She has come a lonnnnng way :)

Oh man that workout really sucked! Have you ever said, felt or thought this before? Wait, you just did a workout, why does that suck?!... Now I know there are workouts that you might hate (aka the ones your trainer makes you do!) and those workouts that make you feel like you want to puke (I’m not really into these type of workouts anymore) and then there are workouts where you feel like you sucked because you didn’t push hard enough, sweat enough or it felt worse than it did last week. Shift that language and mindset woman! You just did a workout and THAT is awesome! Go ahead and give yourself some credit for making the time to move your body! The only workout that sucks is the one you didn’t do or the one you keep putting off or the one you skipped because you didn’t feel like doing because your couch was calling your name I really regret doing that workout-said no one ever Just some food for thought and a little reminder to myself as I caught myself thinking this during my workout tonight. Doing something is better than nothing. Who’s with me on this!?

GRATITUDE Have you written your list yet? I’ll share a few of mine.... I am so grateful for Elijah being born in March I am grateful for being able to spend more time together with my family this year.... I’m grateful that both Sam and I's businesses have survived this year with all the lockdowns, etc I am grateful my family has stayed healthy during the pandemic so far. This has been a tough year for most of us for various reasons but let’s all take a minute to acknowledge what we’ve survived, persevered and overcome to get here. Let’s also take a minute to express gratitude for the simple things in life we are more aware of now than ever before. It’s been a year. Honestly, it’s really sucked. But for the most part it’s been a blessing. So while we say goodbye to 2020, let’s bring forward with us the positives we have learned from this crazy year I’ve loved reading everyone’s posts sharing what they’ve learned and are grateful for and will do the same or differently next year HAPPY NEW YEAR

Let’s say it together: A person’s body size does not determine their health status. Using body size as the primary reflection of health ignores the multi-faceted experience of "health" which is influenced by many factors. Additionally, just as you can’t tell a person’s health status based only on their appearance, you also can’t use it to judge their health behaviors. Their appearance doesn’t tell you...... What they eat How they move How well they sleep How much alcohol they drink Whether they smoke or do drugs Whether they have a strong community supporting them If they have a fulfilling sense of purpose in their life If their interpersonal relationships are healthy How satisfying their sex life is If they’re well-hydrated or even how they feel healthwise. There’s simply no way to automatically judge a person’s behaviors by looking at their body size. Want to learn how to become a stronger, energized, fitter, more confident version of you? Comment below or message me IT’S MY TIME and let’s chat about how I can help YOU prioritize your own health and feel your best without dieting and spending hours in the gym

Struggling to get more steps in? READ THIS! If any of you have a fitness tracker (Apple Watch, Fitbit, garmin) I know you’re aware of how many steps you’re getting (or not getting) each day. Do you have a goal of hitting 10,000 steps/day?! That’s what is recommended but it is hard and takes serious effort.... What can you do to make getting your steps in more achievable? 1. Try breaking it into chunks throughout the day. Maybe 10-15 min walks a few times a day is more doable than a 1 hour walk? 2. Is your step goal too high? Take note of how many steps you take a day without any effort. Then assess what a doable goal per day, even adding a few 1000 steps a day can make a huge difference when done consistently over time. 3. Try to get the majority of your steps in before the afternoon. Maybe it’s the first thing you do when you wake up. The longer and later you wait to go for a walk the harder it gets and lessens your chances of actually doing it. 4. Consider getting a treadmill. If your budget allows for it, you can multitask and while working, kids are napping or while watching a show. 5. Walking is what we were meant to do. Seems simple and annoying at times to get yourself moving but once you make it a habit you’ll miss it when you don’t do it. Who’s determined to increase their daily steps? Was this helpful? Let me know what your step goal is in the comments and how you plan to achieve it

Aaaaaand this place is opening AGAIN after being closed for 28 days on Monday!!! I can't even tell you how excited I am (and how pumped my clients are) to be able to train my clients IN PERSON again! Virtual training is a great alternative for sure and I will continue to see my clients online BUT I can't deny the fact that what I love the most about my job is training clients in person.... I know deep down in my soul that what I do is more than just giving people workouts, making them sweat and counting reps. I help people feel better, shift their mindset, move their bodies, make better choices and learn how to make themselves a priority plus I provide a safe place for them to do that. I couldn't be more pumped for November 9th!!! Anyone else???

Client testimonial from Christine When COVID hit and I couldn’t access my gym, I started doing workouts at home. I got to a point where my progress stalled and I was lacking motivation. That’s when I stopped making excuses and reached out to Leslie.... From our first phone call I knew she was the coach for me. She listened to my story and catered my program to my busy schedule and family life. I’ve seen more progress with Leslie in the past two months than six months of working on my own. She taught me to take each win and celebrate them, big or small. I no longer feel guilty for missing a workout to grab doughnuts with my son and I haven’t felt this confident about myself in years. I’m proud of myself and so thankful to have Les as a coach! So impressed with this woman’s commitment to her goals and her ability to stay consistent even during gym closures and their kitchen renovation! It’s only been 2 months and she’s feeling stronger, has lost inches and pounds and is so proud of her efforts! Way to go @christineeburke! Show her some love

I am so obsessed with my child getting enough sleep, going to bed at the same time and having a bedtime routine, why the heck don’t I do the same for myself? This was a comment/aha moment one of my clients had earlier this week when we were doing our weekly check in call. And it’s so true, isn’t it?... We don’t make sleep a priority (I am guilty too!) and I know you are feeling the effects of being sleep deprived... Tired Trouble focusing Always hungry/having cravings No energy to workout Short temper/snap easily Unmotivated to do anything Feel like crap Sleep is the most neglected and underrated habit for so many of us as we get older (and moms especially!) and it’s also the easiest (and pain free) thing we can improve! And I totally get it- once the kids go to bed you want some down time and time to just chill. You can still do that! But don’t let it keep you up late and (ie Netflix marathon or scrolling social media) Having a hard time getting yourself to bed before 10:30pm? I could list 100s of tips to help you sleep better but here’s my message to you today... just set a bedtime for yourself that will ensure you can get 7-8 hours of sleep (so when do you get up, work backwards) and set and alarm for 1 hour before that. AND 1 hour before bed you can start YOUR bedtime routine.... It could look like this: Turn off tv Plug phone in downstairs (don’t bring it in your room and I bet you’ll go to bed 30 min sooner) Take a bath/shower Brush your teeth, wash your face, etc Get in bed Read book, meditate, etc Turn off light and fall asleep Notice how these steps are similar to our kids bedtime routine? It’s because it works!! Why not treat yourself to a similar wind down routine? Aim to do this a few times a week and notice the difference and how much more rested you feel when you wake up in the morning. You might not even have to press snooze OR you might even wake up before your kids Do you have a current bedtime routine? Are you trying to get more sleep? Hopefully this post inspires you to try....

What if you could have more energy and time to play with your kids? What if you stop avoiding being in pics with your kids? What if you had more intimacy with your partner because you felt sexy and confident in your own skin? What if you made more time to move your body and cook healthy meals? What if you woke up rested?... I know this is what many of you want but maybe you don’t think it’s possible. If that’s what you think- then it will be just a dream-but if you just take the first step- choosing to love yourself first- you are going to be on your way to alllll of these things and more! What does self love look like or feel like to you? It’s different for everyone but I know that what makes me feel the best (and it’s not massages and manicures and bubble baths). It is taking care of ME first. In the last 6 months or more I have been on the verge of mommy burn out due to being in survival mode but who isn’t right now?! Heck being a mom on a regular day is challenging but during a pandemic is TOUGH am I right? But I reached a point where I told myself- I gotta do something, enough is enough. Not only was I feeling run down physically but I was mentally drained from doing all the things except putting my own needs first everyday. Now I wasn’t completely dropping the ball on my health (still eating well most of the time and exercising) but I was so unorganized and inconsistent and just doing enough to get by. What was really suffering was my sleep and we all know what it feels like to be tired allll the time, NOT FUN! So I have committed to doing a better job of taking care of me so I can be at my best for my family, clients and friends. What does that look like? Here are my daily commitments: Get 8-10,000 steps/day Drink minimum 2 L of water Get to bed at 930pm every night(this is the hardest for me!) Eat 3 meals (protein at each meal) Plan out my week on Sunday’s I’ve also hired an amazing coach. I know the value of having accountability and ongoing support. So if you’re reading this and are tired of just trying to get through the day- reach out for help! It’s not easy but it starts with doing simple things. #youreworthit

If you want something you’ve never had, you must be willing to do something you’ve never done It’s crazy that this place has been open and running successfully for 6 years!? I had no clue what I was doing when I first opened this space BUT I knew how to be a really awesome trainer, I thought that was a good start... Here are a few BIG things (the list goes on!) I would share about what I have learned since opening my own personal training studio 6 years ago. 1. Everything is figureoutable. Do you think I have any business experience or an MBA? NOPE! But I am a life long learner AND an extremely hard worker who never gives up and while I have learned most things in my life the hard way, the only way to learn is to try, and you might fail- learn from that, and try again! I have gotten to the point now where I know what I’m good at and get help where I need it. 2. If you love what you do it never feels like work...but it requires a lot of your time and energy. BTW- If you hate what you do, why are you doing it!? I put so much of my energy into helping my clients improve their lives because I truly care about them and they are the reason the business is where it is today! 3. There will be good and bad days and you will question why you chose this path many times. But I keep going back to my why- I am passionate about helping and being of service to others and that keeps me going. I am 100% honest when I say that my family and my clients inspire me every single day. 4. It’s ok to ask for help and often. My husband is my #1 support and I honestly could not do this without him. From taking care of the kids, to letting me have time to get work done or workout, never giving me a hard time for going to bed before he does and getting up before he does, and being a listening ear when I brag about my clients or need to vent. He also cleans the house! Thank you so much to my husband. And my parents, I’ll never be able to thank them enough for their help and support since PRIME opened. 5. Find your people. My friend and coworker Peter has been with me since day 1 and I am so grateful to work with this incredible human. Thx Pete!

Gyms are closed (again!) but this doesn't mean you can't reach your health and fitness goals! If you're like most people I train your biggest obstacle is getting yourself to workout. And I know you know that when you start exercising, the rest takes care of itself (sleep better, eat better, feel better, etc) BUT you keep telling yourself you'll start tomorrow, and then tomorrow comes and you still haven't started yet.... And you feel like crap about it. So here's the deal. Stop dwelling on what you're not doing. Stop wasting another day putting off what you know will help you reach your goals. Quit telling yourself that it will happen one day. Give up the all or nothing mindset and just start! Let me be your coach for the next 4 weeks! I have some openings come available in my schedule and I want to make myself more available to help you, hence why I am offering virtual classes at various times throughout the week. First class is at 7 am Wednesday morning and you are invited! Comment below I AM IN and I'll send you the link to join. Here's the catch, you have to commit to working out with me (at least twice a week) for the next 4 weeks and as a treat I'll include a 30 day challenge (daily email with a 4 week meal plan plus recipes and workouts). The class schedule is as follows: Monday 6:30 am Tuesday 12 pm Wednesday 7 am Thursday 8 am Friday 6 am ** If there is enough interest/demand I will include 1 evening class around 8pm on Tuesday If you are ready to commit to moving more this month and getting into a consistent workout routine and need a little extra support send me a message and I'll provide you with more details. Can't wait to see you online! It is my passion to help people feel better and you can do this just by moving your body more often. Who's as excited as I am about this?

Ever feel like throwing in the towel and just saying forget it? Or maybe you’re constantly thinking- this is so hard and I don’t enjoy it so what’s the point? Perhaps you’ve been on a weight loss journey for awhile (or you were and stopped for some reason) and you are so frustrated that you’re not anywhere near where you would like to be (or used to be!?) You have been doing some workouts, eating better, meditating, drinking your water and you don’t see any change in how your... clothes fit and the scale isn’t budging You’re probably thinking WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH ME! Here’s the thing- this journey you’re on is not linear and your external appearance isn’t the be all and end all of your success. DON’T GIVE UP! Losing weight is (in my opinion) a side effect of taking better care of yourself and making your health a priority. Self care should be your main goal, not reaching a certain number on the scale. What your main focus should be (instead of a pant size or how toned your abs or arms look aka things you can’t control) is changing your behaviours and making positive small changes each week (what you can control!) I took this pic on the weekend during my workout and immediately noticed how big my arms are and how soft I feel BUT THEN I switched to remind myself how grateful I am for my health, my strength, how much I have accomplished since becoming a mom, and how lucky I am to have two healthy boys, a supportive husband I love, a solid community of friends and clients and to be able to do what I love to do every single day. Why do I workout? Why do I choose to cook and eat healthy meals? Why make time for myself everyday? Because I am happier when I do and because I deserve it. And it makes me feel good Sure I’ve got some goals and I’m never gonna stop working hard at improving myself and becoming the best version of myself but I refuse to beat myself up for not looking or feeling the way I did 1,2,5 or 10 years ago. I think we can all agree that having a baby (or 2) can have an affect on your life but for the most part it’s positive. We have to be way more organized. My #1 hope and wish for you is that you prioritize your health

How about instead of saying omg I feel like I’m starting all over again you try saying omg I am so happy I did a workout today! Something I catch myself saying (and heat others saying often) is ugh, I feel like I am starting from scratch or I am totally starting all over again. Now while this mayyyyy be true, focusing on what you haven’t been doing or what you USED to be able to do and comparing your RIGHT NOW to someone else’s or where you used to be isn’t going to ...be very helpful in getting you going now is it? So instead of talking and thinking about what you haven’t done or wish you did more of how about you give yourself credit for what you did do today! And if you haven’t done anything for yourself today- WHY NOT!? It all comes back to prioritizing your health. And celebrating your wins. Doing this helps get you in the right frame of mind and is SUPER helpful at gaining you some momentum so you will keep doing more of the things that you know will get you to feeling better and moving closer to your goals. So stop the self sabotage. Give up the negative self talk. Stop putting off your workouts. And start making more time for you, giving yourself credit and recognize what you’re doing well and keep doing that! We’ve got this! I am right there with you. I’ve got some serious goals and I am slowly but surely working away at them. How about you!? If you’re brave enough-share your big audacious goals below

Here’s a photo from a photo shoot I did long before I was married and had kids It brings back memories of life before kids... I thought I was sooo busy and wished I was more fit... Do I miss the days when I was single and super fit and had nothing to worry about other than meal prep, when I would fit in my 2 hour long workouts and when I would train my clients and make time for friends? A little bit But would I trade my life then for now? Definitely not! To be honest- I was happy and loved my life then but I also love my life now- even though it is extremely different! I’ve come a long way since then and I’ve evolved so much because I am obsessed with personal development and learning new things each year. I am proud of the life I have created and for investing in my health and my business over the years. I am proud of this body that made and birthed 2 strong boys. I am impressed with my resiliency and strong work ethic especially during these challenging times. I am blown away by and love how strong of a bond I have with my husband, my boys, my family, friends and clients. I am grateful that it has been over 12 years of being a successful personal trainer. I make a living doing what I love most- helping people discover and do what it takes to feel their absolute best- inside and out. Now- can you honestly say you are happy and proud of where you are in your life right now? If yes- isn’t it an amazing feeling? If not- don’t stress. It IS possible. This too shall pass. (It’s not always been rainbows and sunshine for me either!) You just gotta dig deep and figure out what that looks and feels like for you. And become so committed to doing what it takes to feel fulfilled, happy and proud. It isn’t easy but it’s definitely worth it. If you want support and guidance with achieving your own health and fitness goals- I would love to help you get there

Being a personal trainer it’s obvious that I am committed to living a healthy lifestyle. I’ve been making my health and fitness a priority for ages and have been helping inspire and teach others to do the same for over 12 years now! My goals and approach to fitness and nutrition have changed A LOT over the years (especially since becoming a mom!) and I am a huge believer that there is no one size fits all solution to achieving your optimal health but that a sustainable approa...ch is the key to long term success. But, if I’m being honest, I’ve pushed my limits (what small business owner hasn’t?!) a little bit too much in the last 6 months (thanks to Covid) and I am feeeeeling the effects. Anyone else?! And I know, I know, I just had a baby and that is for sure tiring BUT I am fully taking responsibility for things I have not been making a priority...and a big one is....SLEEP! I’ve been staying up wayyyy too late doing work, watching tv, scrolling my phone, you name it. I’ve been grinding because, well I’ve had to- but it’s catching up to me. And I don’t want it to get so bad that I can’t recover or keep spiralling out of control. Especially since I’m self employed, with a full roster of clients and a new baby and a busy 3 year old at home. So sure, I gotta cut myself some slack but I know I can do and be better. What is the first thing I am going to focus on to boost my energy, improve my mood and ability to want to take better care of myself? GET MORE SLEEP! No more staying up late doing work, or watching shows, or scrolling my phone. I am setting a very strict bed time. I’ve never been this sleep deprived in my life (any other moms out there feel me!?) but I am determined to make more of an effort to change my state. My body will thank me. My mental state will improve. My energy will improve. I can serve my clients better. My family will get to see the rested, happy and best version of me. And I’ll be better able to take on the challenges I am faced with everyday. So grateful to have had a restful weekend away with my family who always knows just what I need to feel better Who else needs to focus on getting more sleep

MY DOCTOR ASKED ME WHAT DIET I WAS ON AND I TOLD HER "I AM NOT ON A DIET- I HAVE CHANGED MY LIFESTYLE AND AM FINALLY TAKING BETTER CARE OF MYSELF" THIS!!! OMG I couldn't be more proud of my client Tammy. Read below for her story...... "I had been following Leslie on Instagram for awhile and one evening while I was feeling particularly low Leslie contacted me on Instagram and since I believe things happen for a reason I took this opportunity to join Leslie’s online group program. I admire Leslie’s approach to health and fitness. it’s not an all or nothing outlook which is far more realistic, achievable and most importantly sustainable. When I began the program I was suffering headaches, my body ached and I just overall felt unwell. At the start I focused on what I was eating, when I was snacking and why I was. I’ve now adopted healthier habits and am making better food choices. Adopting these changes has been so much easier than I thought they would be and I am truly enjoying lots of new foods. Since changing my lifestyle (under Leslie’s guidance) I lost 14lbs during the 10 weeks while the program was running. While weight loss was not the ultimate goal it reinforced that what I was feeling. I sleep better, have more energy and feel so much happier than I have in recent years. I accomplish more each day. I now eat it live and not live to eat. I make time to do yoga and walk more. I make time for MYSELF! Because of Leslie I’ve learned to be honest with myself and that I do not need to apologize or feel guilty for putting my needs first and I am so much happier! As part of the group there was comfort in knowing others were experiencing the same struggles and being able to share your feelings and listen to theirs was an invaluable experience. If not for Leslie none of this would have happened. Leslie brought together a group of women whom all had one goal in mind - to feel confident with their choices and be happier. Leslie was always encouraging, offering support and never criticism." SO AMAZING RIGHT? Let's show Tammy some love!! What's even more impressive is since the 10 week program ended she stuck to her healthy habits and has lost over 30 pounds (and yep this was during the COVID months!) This is one example of how successful you can be when you set yourself up for success by committing to one of my programs stick to the plan, trust the process and never give up! In case you catch yourself asking "but will it work for me?!" -YES IT REALLY DOES WORK! P.S. THERE IS 1 SPOT LEFT in my next 12 week online group program starting on September 28. Today is the first day of the new month. So take a deep breath and start moving towards your goals and dreams! Who always feels a little extra motivated on the first day a new month? I sure do! It's a great time to get refocused, start setting some goals, come up with a plan and get to work! ... Here are a few suggestions and quick tips for getting you started on your health and fitness journey when you're just starting out: 1. Get really clear on your why! For example, let's say you have a weight loss goal. Ok, but why do you want to lose weight? ie How is that going to make you feel? Why is losing weight important to you? Because you want to have more energy? Have more confidence? Feel better? Be able to play with your kids? Think about it and go deeper to determine your why. 2. Determine what you're willing to do and what you're not willing to do to reach your goals. Are you planning to do this on your own or do you need help? How many times a week do you plan to workout? And how often can you workout consistently? What changes are you going to make to your nutrition? What are you going to add to your intake as opposed to focusing on what you need to take away. What other habits do you need to do more or less of? Make sense? 3. Come up with a plan and write it down. We all have calendars on our phone, use it to schedule appointments with yourself for workouts, meal prep, bedtime, etc 4. Do the work and don't give up. Remember it's not about being perfect but being consistent! You just have to start and commit to yourself. Just keep going even if you miss a day ;) It takes time and is never a straight and easy road to success. 5. Repeat steps 1-4 until you reach your goal ***If after 2-4 week you're struggling to get yourself going or have a hard time sticking to it, then it's time to reach out for help. If you want to do things the right way right off the bat, are tired of not making progress, of giving up on yourself and making the same mistakes over and over again, send me a message and let's chat about how I can help you. ***PS My 12 Week Online Group Program is open for enrollment in the next couple weeks. The PRIME Method begins September 28 and there is only room for 5 committed clients. Message me for details :)

IF YOU DON’T TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF WHO WILL? I’m going to give you a bit of tough love today... I work with a lot of moms like you and you know what I admire the most about them?... They have decided that they are worth the effort and money it takes to feel good again. So they reached out to me and said I’m ready- let’s do this! They were tired of feeling tired and not seeing progress. They were done with making excuses and not liking what they saw in the mirror. They were sick of putting off their dreams and goals. They were fed up with feeling like everyone’s needs came before theirs every single day. They were done with hiding from pictures with their family. One day they woke up and decided that things needed to be different. No more being frustrated. No more waiting until the perfect time. No more starting and stopping different diets and exercise programs. They wanted to look forward to moving their body, eating healthy and feeling good about themselves. They wanted to do it right. And that meant getting help. Every single mom I work with ultimately tells me they want the same thing- I want to feel good. They also know and admit they can’t do it alone and that they need help. So how about you? If you are ready for change and want help figuring out how it’s possible to feel good and take better care of yourself while taking care of others 24/7, shoot me a message and let’s chat. I have 2 spaces left for 1 on 1 clients. Decide TODAY that you are going to do something for YOU, ask for help, and invest in your health and fitness. If not now, when? You don’t have to do it alone, I am here to guide you, support you and prevent you from making all the mistakes I did. Plus I’ll be there holding your hand and cheering you on, every step along the way

It’s 10:30 PM and the last thing you want to do is laundry. Or prepping meals. Or cleaning up. Or finally fitting in work. But it’s what you do because it’s the only time you’re going to get to yourself today that is, apart from the time that you finally fall into your bed for a good 8 hours. (Okay, who are we kidding. 6 hours on a good day.)... You sit down to do the task at hand and you realize Your shoulders are almost up to your ears. Your feet hurt. Your back aches. You are so tired... But it’s nothing compared to the pain you’re feeling on the inside. The pain of hopelessness of realizing that this thing called Motherhood feels endless and overwhelming. No one is pouring into you. And friend, you need it. If you hear nothing else today, I want you to hear this. You deserve to have someone "mom" you. You deserve to have someone to support you. It’s not selfish. It’s not you being whiney. It’s the reality that this stuff called motherhood is hard and it’s getting harder every single day. So who is lifting you up? Who is propping you up so that you can be successful in your everyday, strong in your body, and strong in your mind without expecting or needing anything in return? Who is there to help you refill your cup? Here’s the deal. I want to help you find a way out of the rut you’re in right now. Because when things are overwhelming generally, it’s easy for things to feel like a total tsunami barreling toward you day in and day out. So if you’re looking for help to: -Navigate the changes that have happened to your body (and your life!) since giving birth (no matter how long it's been) -Add regular exercise to help you feel better in life, manage stress, and enjoy your body -Simplify your nutrition so you stop obsessing and getting stuck deciding what you'll eat every day -Center your own care, pleasure and time so you can end the cycle of martyring mothers then let’s connect. Send me a message or type in the comment, "Let’s Talk" and let’s start a discussion about what your 10:30 PM can look like for you instead. I am here for you

ARE YOU COACHABLE? There are a lot of factors that make up success in reaching your health and fitness goals. One of the most important is being coachable.... What does that mean? 1). Show up. Getting in shape and improving your health is EARNED. You can’t buy your results. You’ve got to channel your time, energy, and focus into giving more to whatever it is you want to accomplish. This may sound very simple, and it is, but the more you focus on changing your lifestyle the better your results will be. So open your calendar, and block time each week to workout, plan your meals, get a walk in, sleep and anything else that is super important to you. 2). Engage and ask good questions. Don’t sit on the bench watching, get in the game and play full out. Be organized and when you aren't sure about something, write down your questions and ask it the next time you're with your trainer. There are no silly questions! 3). Get clear action steps. Not sure what you should be doing next? Lost and confused? See #1 and #2. Then make sure you channel that time invested into getting the right priorities to get your closer to your goal. 4). Do the work. You know you aren't going to get in shape by looking at a workout written down on paper or searching random workouts online. You improve by actually DOING the workout. You’ve got to show up to your sessions, plan and cook what you're going to be eating, make sleep a priority and and spend time with people who support your goals, not sabotage. 5). Repeat again. And again. And again. Sustained effort, over time, is how you always attack and achieve big goals in your life. If you can commit to do these things you are coachable and WILL grow as far in life as you desire. Aim to be MORE coachable and you will go faster. And if you can’t be coachable nobody can really help you because you aren’t showing up in the way you need to in order to help yourself. Are you coachable and have big goals for yourself? If so, I would LOVE to be your coach. Send me a message to set up a call and get started on your first free week of personal training. (PS No handshakes these days but I will greet you with a big smile behind my mask!)

ACCEPTANCE IS SELF LOVE. ACCEPTANCE IS NOT GIVING UP. ACCEPTANCE IS THE FIRST STEP TOWARDS IMPROVING YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR BODY. But for some reason it is the hardest thing for many of us to do (myself included!) My dad took this picture of Max and I the other day in our front yard. I didn’t think anything of it. I’m not usually one to say no to having a picture taken of me. I was happy seeing Max so excited about getting ice cream from an ice cream truck (before dinner...Continue reading

It's been almost 5 months since the lockdown (wow!) and 5 months since I gave birth to baby Eli (so crazy!) It's been a lonnnnng 5 months for many of us and I am sure you are feeling the effects of not having a consistent routine, eating wayyyy too many snacks, drinking more alcohol than you used to, not moving enough, staying up way too late, not having a 'break' from the kids, and just feeling blah from watching or reading the bad news everyday. Remembering a special client and friend today after receiving the sad news that he had passed away due to natural causes. I was Jeremy's personal trainer for many years and he truly was one of the most determined and hardest working clients I knew. He was also super sweet and thoughtful to others but was always so hard on himself. I asked him to write a client testimonial for me after he reached a major milestone in his fitness journey, he got down to the weight he was in hig...h school and felt the best he had ever felt. Here is a link the blog for the full post https://getfitwithles.wordpress.com//client-testimonial-j/ Keep reading below as I share the last part of his post. I read this out loud tonight and it totally made me cry. It reminded of the good times we had, how excited we would get every time we would do a 'check in' and of why I love what I do, I truly am in the business of changing lives. "Above all, I am proud to call Leslie my coach. Those people who have truly had a coach know what that can mean, and it means a lot. I recommend her to anyone who is a little lost, in need of getting their life back on track. I struggle to this day with my opinion of myself. I am not a good person. I am selfish and lazy and petty and angry. But my coach has been patient with me, she has shown me all the things that I DO WELL, and has finally made me hungry for my own success. Leslie has a real gift for working with your motivation, and building you up from where you gave up to where you can hope and dream again. I used to have problems making it through my day, and now I look forward to each day as it comes. Most days, Leslie is a bigger fan of me than I am of myself. She will never know how much that means to me, and I will never be able to pay her back for that over a year and a half of selfless acts as I found my feet again. She has helped me find the diet that works for me, and all the parts of my diet before that were holding me back, she has helped me build proper form in all of the exercises, and I would be remiss if I did not mention how excellent she is at working out! She is STRONG, and pound for pound can keep up with anyone in the gym, male or female. I am forever thankful for the days where she has let me train the trainer, as it has given me so much perspective. Best personal trainer and life coach I have ever met. My only regret is that I had not met her years earlier " And MY only regret, Jeremy, is that I never got a chance to say good bye. Rest in peace Jeremy. Gone way too soon at 42 years young.

Insanity is described as doing the same thing over and over yet expecting different results. How many of you have been doing your own workouts at home for the last 4 months? If you’re feeling like you’ve hit a plateau or maybe you’re just bored with doing the same old thing each week here’s some advice to help you continue seeing changes in your body and increasing your total body strength... 1Change things up! Switch up the exercises, intensity, reps, sets, rest periods, tempo and frequency of workouts. 2Increase the weights aka LIFT HEAVY!! If you are uncomfortable with 1and2 then try 3Hire a trainer!! Did you know that lifting heavy weights with a trainer is THE BEST way to help you make the changes you want to see in your body and ensure you get the best bang for your buck with your workouts? Plus lifting needy stuff makes you look really cool Are you someone who feels comfortable and confident enough to lift heavy on your own? Maybe you don’t have access to heavy weights at home? Or maybe you don’t even know where to begin? The personal trainers at PRIME are super knowledgeable and passionate about helping you get to your goals and showing you how to lift weights properly. So if you want to take your workouts to the next level and are looking for a personalized program that you can do in studio (safely) or in your home- consider reaching out to one of our trainers at PRIME. @nourished_momentum @fasttrackfitottawa @getfitwithles We have a few 3 free session packages left, who’s in??

Have you stepped on the scale lately? How does it make you feel? I was a little shocked when I checked my weight yesterday as this was the highest number I’ve ever seen since being pregnant.... Anyone else feeling this way right now? Bigger than you’ve ever been? Scared to even know what you weigh? Annoyed because you wish it was easier to lose weight and feel like you’re doing all the right things? Super discouraged because you don’t know where to start? I promise you its going to be ok. You are not alone. I want to share with you what has helped me overcome being obsessed with using the number on the scale to determine my happiness, what other means I use to gauge my success and how I use other means to measure my progress. First of all, why are we so fixated on the number on the scale in the first place? This needs to stop being the main measure of progress! It tells us nothing about how amazing we are and how far we have come! This belief that once I lose x number of pounds or reach a certain weight I’ll be so much happier is sooooo untrue! Sure- the scale is a good TOOL to track progress week by week but it’s not the ONLY way to measure success and should not be used to validate your efforts. What do I suggest you do to truly measure your progress and allow yourself to celebrate all kinds of wins on your journey to becoming a happier and healthier you? Take a minute and notice.... how you feel in your body how your energy levels are throughout the day how your clothes fit/measurements how is your sleep how is your relationship with food how are you talking to yourself These are just a few ways to I get my clients (and myself) to measure progress. And this doesn’t happen overnight! Some women take 6 months to 2 years to get to a point where they feel confident in themselves and become more consistent with their healthy habits. Now, if this resonates with you and you are ready to measure your progress without using only the scale then send me a DM and let’s set some reasonable goals together and come up with an action plan to get you started

I spent 4 hours without my kids on Sunday morning and it was JUST what I needed Yikes, reading that again sounds bad! Anyone else feel that they are in need of a some serious solo time or a quick break from their family?... Don’t be shy (or ashamed) to admit it! You’re not alone I’m not suggesting you book a weekend away or disappear for a week (good for you if you can!) BUT have you tried just setting up a few hours (kid free) to catch up with a friend or go on a date with your partner or just hang out solo? If you can- figure out a way to make it happen and JUST DO IT! And I know, for some of you this may seem (or be) impossible right now (or ever!) but hear me out... I made last minute plans with a good friend of mine on Sunday (she is a mom of 3!) and we drove almost an hour both ways to Gatineau park and went for a 10km hike to the Lusk Caves (without kids) and it was incredible. Not only did it feel good to be in nature, get in a good workout but I was able to have an uninterrupted conversation with my friend. Call me crazy but it’s the simple things that bring me so much joy right now... Did I have some mom guilt leaving my family for 4 hours on a Sunday morning? YEP! But did I let it stop me from doing what I knew I would enjoy and would make me happy? NOPE! Plus it wasn’t something I thought I would be physically able to do but when you’re chatting with a friend the whole time and soaking up the beautiful sights around you-the time flies by. And before I knew it I had hiked 10 km and walked over 2 hoursand got super sweaty (phew!) So I challenge you to do something a little out of your comfort zone this week, make plans with yourself, or a friend or your partner. Ask for help with the kids. And book it. Put it in your calendar. And make it happen! Comment below what is something you wish you could do or want to make plans for this week Now what do you need to do to make this happen? Oh and thanks for my wonderful parents and husband for helping me out with the kids

Can we have a heart to heart today-- 2020 is more than half over. And we need to have a loving conversation about your progress, goals and beliefs.... Maybe someone told you that moms are meant to be over weight and tired all the time. Maybe someone told you that you have no business investing in your health. Maybe you believe that no program is going to help you be more consistent making yourself and health a prioirty because (insert reason). Maybe you’re hiding behind fear, uncertainty and overwhelm. Every single day I work with busy moms who had (and still have) some of those limiting beliefs. The difference between them and everyone else is that they understood those beliefs for what they really are-- FEAR. False Emotions Appearing Real. And because they understand that their fear is disguised as stories in their head, they decided not to listen to them. They decided to tell themselves a different story I am enough. There IS room for me. I can do this. I am here for the challenge. I deserve success beyond anything I previously thought possible. I am someone who makes working out a priority. I am someone who makes time for myself and has a positive self image. I will eat healthier. I am energized and proud. I have a community of happy, health conscious and supportive moms like me. I have a body and a lifestyle I am proud of. TRUTH: The only thing that’s holding you back from getting starting and growing ARE THE STORIES IN YOUR HEAD. Because these fear-based stories are playing on a loop in your mind (I’m not sure I can do this, what if it doesn’t work, I need more experience, I should try on my own first) they’re creating anxiety, overwhelm, exhaustion and stopping you from achieving meaningful results. Which means you never get anywhere no consistency and no results. Because what you focus on becomes your reality. Imagine if you honoured your goals and invested in achieving them-- what would happen? Imagine if the story in your mind went like this instead "I don’t know what I’m doing. But that isn’t going to stop me. I am someone who invests in myself. I am someone who bets on ME. I will acquire the skills, systems and know-how to achieve success. I will have a healthy mindset and lifestyle and consistent workout routine within the next 6-12 months" What would happen if that was the story playing on repeat in your mind? I wonder 2020 is half over. You have a choice-- you can stay where you are and feel defeated in 6 months from now or you can decide to invest in yourself (and your health) and in 6 months from now have a healthy mind, body and life, be working out consistently and no longer have an unhealthy relationship with food plus learn how it's possible to love the skin you're in. Fear does not get to write your story-- you do. If you’d like my help to change your story, send me a direct message and let's chat!

I'm really struggling to find the motivation to work out and having a hard time staying on track, CAN YOU HELP ME!? This is a message I get from people ALL THE TIME! Guess what, if you're feeling this way YOU ARE NOT ALONE!... Now, what do I suggest to someone who feels this way? Here goes.... 1. Shift your mindset. Feeling lazy and like you're not doing enough? Shift your thinking from couch potato mentality to thinking like an athlete. This may sound like a big challenge, but it’s not as big a leap as you think. I have recently stopped using my kids, being stuck at home plus running my business as an excuse not to exercise. I constantly have to remind myself of how good I feel when I exercise and use my kids as my motivation to exercise as I will have more energy for them and will set a strong example. No matter what exercise looks like for you-committing to a fitness routine begins in your head. 2. Set a goal. Whatever it is, define it, write it down and revisit it daily. Most importantly, make sure it is realistic and important to you!! 3. Schedule a regular workout time. Some of the most committed exercisers do it every day before the sun comes up or late at night when the kids are in bed. Sit down with your weekly schedule and try to build in at least 15-20 minutes each day to be good to your body. 4. Think fun and variety. We as humans need change and variety to stay motivated. We also need to have fun even while we’re working hard. Do both! Make sure you include activities you truly enjoy and look forward to doing, and can even make you forget you're working out. Listen to your inner voice when choosing the best workout for you, it could be dance, swimming, biking or lifting weights. Workout variety also challenges your body in unique ways, which may introduce you to new muscle groups you didn’t even know you had. 5. Reach out to others for support. This is where I come in! I know, it can be super hard and scary to ask for help BUT in order to stick to a fitness program, we need to invest and require encouragement (and accountability) from other people especially when we are lacking motivation. I have SOOO many options for you to work with me so if you've been thinking about reaching out for awhile, don't wait any longer! Let this be your sign that today is the day! PS....Did you know that people that have a personal trainer or community support are are proven to have better results, are more consistent and happier than those who are trying to do this all alone? So, if after reading this post you're still struggling with the thought of doing any sort of exercise on your own, send me a message and let's get you moving again! When has anyone ever regretted starting a workout routine with the support of a trainer? None of my clients have.... ;)

Playing with my kids provides instant stress relief for me Wait! What? I know we have been spending A LOT of time at home with our kids lately (which can be tough) but over the last couple weeks I have been preparing to head back to the studio and while it is exciting it is also stressful and a bit scary ... So that all hit me yesterday. All the things I have to do to prepare and plan for. All the additional protocols to follow. All the emails I have to prepare to send out. Worrying if people will feel comfortable coming back to the gym and if new clients will be interested in joining. And the hardest thing... Not being home all day like I have been the last 4 months with the family Don’t get me wrong, it hasn’t been all sunshine and roses at home BUT it’s been easier than going to work (especially with Covid pandemic). The transition back to work is what has been causing me stress. Especially have a 4 month old and 3 year old at home. But I know there are people in much more difficult situations than me and if they can do it so can I. Besides, this is the life and career I chose (and love) and I ultimately have no choice but to go back to work now. So what did I do to help relieve my stress yesterday? 1 Played with and 100% focused on the kids. Even doing this for 10 minutes can make a huge difference. 2 Made a healthy meal and sat down to eat it, distracted. We all know this is easier said than done. Try it! And take your time to eat it too! 3 Checked things off my to do list. Once the kids went to bed I immediately set my timer for 1 hour and just did what I could. It felt so good and it’s crazy how much you can get done when you focus on doing only that. Action beats anxiety 4 Meditation. I’ve been lazy with this lately but popped on a 10 minute guided meditation once I laid down to sleep and it worked like a charm. Plus I had a good night’s sleep. (thanks Eli!) Hope this list helped! What are your go to’s for reducing stress? Share below!

GRATEFUL FOR GAGA! Happy to have mom back in Ottawa a couple days a week to help us out while Sam and I both transition back to work (not from home). Max and Eli love spending time with you too ... 4 more weeks of craziness with Sam running an outdoor volleyball camp plus lots of private lessons and then momma can get back seeing more clients in the studio. Even though I’ve been only doing a couple hours here and there I am having a hard time being away from the boys. The last 4 months is THE LONGEST I have ever been away from seeing clients in person and while I have dearly missed my clients I have gotten used to working from home and training clients virtually (and will continue to do so). I’m still trying to find my way being self employed with 2 boys now plus the challenges of the pandemic. But all I can do is my best and take it 1 day at a time....and keep figuring things out as I go. Anyone else feeling a little extra stressed and overwhelmed lately? Check out my post tomorrow to learn what my plan is to manage all the craziness...and still make a little time for me each day

Have you ever put on a pair of shorts and felt really good in them? Lately I would have to say NO! Until today....... After spending months trying to cram myself into the shorts I’ve been wearing comfortably for years I said enough is enough. They don’t make me feel good about myself right now. So I ordered a new pair of shorts and it’s the first pair that actually fits since Eli was born And guess what size they are? A SIZE 16! Guess how I’m feeling about that? PRETTY PUMPED AS I NOW HAVE SHORTS THAT FIT! For real though, I gained the same amount of weight with Eli as I did with Max (about 40lbs) but for some reason the weight is not coming off as easily as it was after Max. But to be honest it hasn’t really been my focus right now My stomach is fatter, looser and softer than it’s ever been. My hips are wider. My thighs rub. I have back fat. My body feels foreign to me. But that’s ok. I have to keep reminding myself... This body made 2 beautiful boys. This body is strong. This body loves to be where it’s at right now. This body doesn’t concern itself with sizes and numbers on the scale. This body is living the quarantine life. This body is getting used to life with 2 boys. Also I am not my body! I’ve done a lot of internal work to get to where I am comfortable admitting that I am not as fit as I would like to be but I am taking my time. I am currently wearing a size 16 and I don’t care! No more freaking out. No crash diets. No cutting carbs. No more doing hours of cardio. No more beating myself up because I don’t fit into my clothes (yet and I might never be able to again!) It can be hard to do but if you feel like all your clothes are tight and make you feel like crap about yourself whenever you get dressed- try getting some clothes that fit! Who’s with me? Are you going to start being ok with where you’re at while continuing to take care of yourself because it makes you feel good and you are worth it! If you see me wearing these shorts every day this summer now you know why (Now I just gotta wait for the other pairs to come in.) Thanks sis for the birthday gift First time I’ve felt this good wearing shorts in awhile

Head to her profile for the full post #Repost @tess_franklin with @get_repost What does it take to be a #fitmom? ... The answer is: it’s different for all of us. The way a married mom of 5 lives her life is different than the single mom of 1, and so what works for one will be different for the other. A mother’s life is complex, and full, and busy; we’re a beautiful mess and there’s never just one thing you need to do to be successful in your fitness goals. I asked 9 Fit Moms what the secret to their success was - women who I look up to and respect, not because of how they look (although they’re all stunning!) but because of how they’re able to balance having a family, career, and staying fit. Their answers all varied, but two things were the same: nobody said it was easy, and they all remain committed to their health. Swipe to be inspired Thank you, ladies, for your insights
