May 3-9, 2021 is Mental Health Week. With the pandemic dragging on and the latest lockdown, there are a lot of people who are struggling. If you need help, talk to someone - family, friends, your healthcare provider. Check out the Canadian Mental Health Association website for tools, info and resources. https://cmha.ca/

First off we would like to thank you all for your loyalty throughout this. Today’s announcement was yet another blow to many small businesses. But we want to remind you that chiropractors are regulated health professionals so we can continue to operate as we have been since reopening in June 5th. Dr Nadia will have more clarification tomorrow about her services and rest assured we will be in contact if we need to make any changes. Mary Beth’s clients will hear from her direc...tly about appointments going forward. We will continue to do all of the things we have been doing to keep everyone safe - including screening, contact tracing, hand sanitizing, frequent cleaning of surfaces and wearing masks. Please keep an eye on your inbox for an email tomorrow. And remember if you have symptoms or have had a possible exposure, let us know and we can reschedule your appointment until you get the go ahead from 811. We thank you and appreciate you!

Just a reminder that self care should be at the top of your list this holiday season. Despite all the fun, there is also a lot of stress this time of year. Here are a few tips to help you manage the stress and overwhelm. The clinic is now closed for Christmas. We will be back in the office on Tuesday December 29th and we look forward to seeing you then. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

There still time to get your adjustment before the holidays! We are open tomorrow morning (Christmas Eve) 9-12 with Dr’s Fox & Peddle. Or if you want to take advantage of the slower season, Dr Hallett is here next week. Have a safe and happy holiday!

We are so happy to be able to support this wonderful local charity this year. We know it's been a tough year all round but charities are finding it especially hard as many fundraising efforts have been affected by the pandemic. If you can, we really encourage you to give to whatever local or national charity that speaks to your heart. Thank you for your continued support this year! Have a happy holidays, merry Christmas and joyous new year from all of us at Glenbourne Chiropractic!

The clinic will be closed this morning until 2pm as we pay our respects to those who have served and continue to serve so that we can enjoy our freedom. We will be opening at 2pm with Dr Fox, Dr Peddle and Mary Beth. Please call if you need an appointment and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Just a reminder that we are still trying to limit numbers in the clinic. If you are picking up products and do not have an appointment, please call first to make sure it is a good time. You can also limit your time in the clinic by paying over the phone or with a stored credit card. Then we can have you receipt and package ready to go! Also, this Friday the clinic will be open 11-5 as we focus on staff training. We will return to our normal Friday schedule (9-6) next week. Thanks for your understanding!

Please note that our updated screening questions now include if anyone in your household has travelled outside of the Atlantic bubble in the past 14 days. Let us know if you can not answer NO to all of the screening questions (posted outside & inside the clinic and on the bottom of your reminder emails). Thanks in advance for helping us keep the clinic a safe environment!

On this last day of massage therapy awareness week I wanted to leave you with this thought- one of the biggest lessons I've taken from the current pandemic and the changes its brought to our daily lives, work social circles etc is our adaptability to change. Change can be either good or bad- it's how we chose to look at it. How does this all relate to massage therapy? Well, our industry has seen a GLOBAL impact, a change that we've never experienced before and as MTs global...ly were quickly forced into a very uncomfortable change, and we had to learn to either accept and adapt to it or "sink". While the majority of us buckeled in and stood our ground , when we were able to re open, some of us saw the casualties of unwanted and unaccepted change. One of the common themes I posted about this week was how massage can help with mental health and stress relief and how those have a direct impact on our immune system and overall health. When we saw our clients race back in (and thankfully some still are) many of us noticed that they were not only facing physical changes- homes became offices, homes became school, parents became teachers, lost jobs and even careers, but many now have mental health changes for the very same reasons and unfortunately more. While MTs want our clients to remember to move more, breathe better and live better , this is the perfect time to help educate as best we can on the importance of how to adapt to radical changes and how the "homework" we typically prescribe- movement, mindset and nutrition-play an even bigger role in our overall health more than ever! We need change to grow, no matter how uncomfortable. Injuries, tension and stress in the body can sometimes be a result of our resistance to change, so just imagine if we just let go and learned to be friends with it! Stay safe peeps & stay open to change!
