Generation of Change

I am so so proud of our students who have persevered through this pandemic, striving to finish their university schooling online with intermittent internet. ...something we may take for granted in Canada can be very unpredictable in the village of Ascension and Caraballo. Our program, Generation of Change, in partnership with our very dedicated sponsors continues to provide education to these amazing students. They each have a beautiful story. I am honoured to know them and it is a privilege for us to partner with them as they grow as leaders in their education and their community. Alicia, Frisny, Marcelina, Angela, Jairo, Crismairy, Lucia: We celebrate you as you finish this term. Of course, Megan, this is all possible because of your love and dedication to all of them.

We are so proud of our students who are presently attending university through Generation of Change. They are all doing well. New doors open up so many opportunities. Angela, Alicia, Lucia, Frisny, and Jairon, Well done and good luck this year in school.

I am so excited and very very proud to welcome our four new students to Generation of Change. Each one of them strives to lead and make the village of Ascension and Caraballo in Dominican Republic a better place by serving. We believe that taking care of your community and receiving education will move the whole village forward. Please help me congratulate Marcelina Hernandez, Miguelito Dominique, Crismairy Ricardo, and Makenley Desir to our program. They will all be starting university in Puerta Plata in August.

We have been blessed to return to the beautiful DR to accept more students into our university program. Soon I will post pictures of our new students ...stay tuned.

Yes, we are very proud of this young man, Jose who has graduated with a degree in Math and Physics, as a secondary school teacher.

We are so so proud of you Josè Ramòn Severino Garcia. You have worked so hard to achieve your math and physics degree in teaching.

A huge Congradulations to Claritza for finishing law school. So much work, but YOU DID IT. Huge thanks to Generation of Change for believing in her and helping her to make this dream come true. WHAT A FANTASTIC DAY.

Generation of Change is a leadership program for students in the village of Ascension and Caraballo. Our goal is to provide the opportunity for students to attend university and in turn, make changes to the village. All of our students are doing so well in university. We are so proud of all of you!

Generation of Change is making a difference in the village of Ascension and Caraballo. We attended the Graduation of Antonia Williams this past week. She has persevered through so much, winning an award as the top student in her education program. She is a wonderful teacher and a fabulous example for us all. Antonia is the eldest of 9 children, living in Ascension village. Congratulations, Antonia. It is a privilege to partner with you as you make your dreams come true.

Here is the update from Megan Murphy Ratnam about Ascension and Caraballo village where our students are in the DR. "We just left Ascencion and Caraballo and I am excited to share that everything and everyone are ok. Thanks to Wilson for opening the community Center. Many people moved in when the wind started to get bad. Today everyone is cleaning up the debris. All is calm. Back to normalcy here."

Here is our team that went down to Ascension and Caraballo village to spend time with the community. Although we assisted with the uniform campaign, I believe that we took more away than we left. I am so excited to welcome Alicia and Lucia into our University program, Generation of Change. Both girls live in Ascension and Caraballo Village in the Dominincan Republic. They will be attending Utesa University in Puerta Plata and studying Psychology. Both of the girls are compassionate leaders, helping to move the whole village forward. Generation of Change is about leadership first because leaders are influencers who make a difference and the empowerment of education changes people, families, and then whole villages. My heart if full of gratitude for all of you who have taken the time to donate to something that I am passionate about...assisting women & childern in the 3rd w...orld.
