Hey everybody! We're back! We are closed today (Family Day), but we will be open tomorrow, and all weekdays (except Tuesdays after tomorrow) from noon to 6.00p, and weekends from 11.00a to 4.00p. While we are very happy to be back in business, so to speak, we will also be enforcing the COVID-19 protocols that were in place before lockdown began.... Proper masks are MANDATORY in the shop, please. The effectiveness of face shields has not been confirmed, so the full mask is required. If this is not possible for you, we will do our best to help you outside. If you prefer to use curbside pickup, we can accommodate that for you as well. For now, we will permit up to 3 people in the shop at one time, and ask that everyone wait outside to be let in. Please respect social distancing and sanitizing protocols while in the shop. We will accept cash as payment, but prefer debit/credit and tapping whenever possible. We will be taking trades in again, but depending on the number of items you bring us, we may ask that you leave your items with us for processing and we will contact you when we have completed the trade assessment. Hi everyone! TL;DR - cryptic message regarding lockdown, Super Mario 3D-World + Bowser's Fury out on Friday, yes, my posts are too long, and as usual, how awesome you guys are! Well, if anyone can untangle what that update from the Ontario government means for me, feel free to explain it! It appears that when the lockdown order expires (16 Feb), the region will go back to colour codes, and that will dictate how we are allowed to be open. ... However, as some people know, this Friday is the release of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury for Switch! A bunch of folks have pre-oreordered copies, and they are here! Due to lockdown, we are closed on Friday, BUT I will be in the shop for the afternoon, noon to 4.00p, if you want to come and grab your copy! Also, I have a few copies left, if anyone wants to snag one! Just send me a message that you are coming, and if there is one left, it's yours! Please remember that we are taking payment by eTransfer, and doing curbside pickup or limited delivery within KW (weather permitting, these days). With the government imposed lock-down now underway, we cannot be open to the public for at least 4 weeks. Hi everyone... TL;WR - closed for lockdown effective 25 Dec, we will make sure you can get games and resolve problems, hacker update. 2020 just keeps kicking us in the shins, doesn't it? You are likely already aware of the pending lockdown. In accordance with the government's orders, we will be closed, effective 24 December at 3.00p. We will reopen again when the government permits it...that is currently estimated to be 23 January 2021.... We are OPEN tomorrow (Tuesday) and Wednesday from noon to 6.00p, and Thursday (Christmas Eve) from 11.00a until 3.00p. Please remember that if you have a problem with ANYTHING you buy from us, WE WILL MAKE IT RIGHT. It might not be right away - the lockdown makes things tough, but we will figure out how to make arrangements with you, should you require an exchange of a product. But we will NEVER stick you with items that don't work. Please email the shop, or send us a Facebook message, and we will fix it. I promise. Last lockdown, we delivered games in KW, and had some curbside pickup...both methods required payment by e-transfer. I expect we will do the same thing this time. Stay tuned for details. Hey everyone! Because 2020 didn’t suck enough, I came into the shop today to find that our computer system had been hacked. A recent Windows update vulnerability was exploited, and the system and point-of-sale data has been deleted off our system. I am working to restore a previous backup and get the system running again, but we need new hardware and such before we are back to where we want to be. We take daily backups, so we have the data on a separate system, and can get ...it back once the hardware is in place. Additionally, we will be looking for an alternative protection method, on top of the firewall Windows provides, to ensure this doesn’t happen again. I would like to assure everyone that the system we use does NOT keep credit card information on it, so NOBODY’S credit card information was vulnerable or taken. What does all of this mean? Well, it means transactions will move more slowly, as we move to handwritten receipts for now. Additionally, we cannot do any trades or access anyone’s trade credit until we are up again. Lookups will be slower, but we are going to do our absolute best to move things along as quickly as possible. We are open, but things will be slow until we can get things rolling again, and I really apologize for this. Hi everyone! This is a lengthy COVID-19 update post, just delivering some news about the shop for the next little while. If we get locked down, and are unable to open the shop for a period of time, I will post another update with our plan. TL;DR: Masks (not face shields) are ABSOLUTELY mandatory in the shop, effective 21 November, for everyone. We are also limiting the number of people in the shop at one time to 3 individuals, or two pairs of customers. Effective immedi...ately, proper masks are MANDATORY in the shop. Please, please, please put a mask on. If you are unable to wear a mask, for whatever reasons, we are asking that you please wait outside, and someone will come out and talk to you about how we can help you. We are limiting the number of customers in the shop at one time to 3 individuals, or two sets of two people who come in and stay together. We are also placing hand sanitizer at the front of the shop, and we request that everyone use some sanitizer when they come in. I promise that we are not trying to make life harder on anyone. There are a number of people who have come in, unable to wear masks, and while I sympathize and apologize in advance for this inconvenience, we all have to do our part to help others. Also, we will not be engaging in any debate, especially about the benefits of face shields, or the necessity of masks. My crew are people too, and don't need to be snarled at or bawled out any more, simply because they want to be safe too. Hi everyone! TL;DR - Happy Halloween! Hours have changed! We have some swag and merch for your stocking stuffer needs! Did you have a great Halloween? Feels like a lot of folks opted to stay home, judging by the basket of extra candy I am forced to eat...although I have been informed by Mrs Boss that I will by giving it away in the shop instead.... Hey hey! Super Mario release day tomorrow! Well, I had hoped to have a midnight release announcement to share, so folks could come in tonight to pick up Super Mario 3D All-Stars, but unfortunately, the complete shipment of units did not arrive today. So here is the good news - if you are one of the 60 people who pre-ordered a copy, I absolutely will have one for you tomorrow...but maybe not when we open. I only have 30 copies to start the day...the rest will be delivered at... some point tomorrow afternoon. Guys, I sincerely apologize for this...normally, the game companies ensure that the games arrive a day or two in advance of release, but for whatever reason, Nintendo left things until the very last minute. The goal here is to not disappoint anyone who comes in tomorrow, because I don't have all of the games in the shop yet. Hi everyone! Well, here it is mid-August, and we are still wearing masks and keeping our distance from everyone. I hope you guys are still hanging in there, doing what you need to do to keep yourselves and your loved ones safe! There are questions that we answer almost every day, and you already know that we sell new and used video games, consoles and accessories. But...... We rent video games! $10 per week, and you can try the latest game before shelling out the big bucks to buy it! Rental consoles are also available - a current gen console is $50 per week, and that includes one game! Ask us for details! We take pre-orders for new games! If you know there is a new game dropping and you just gotta have it, let us know! As long as there is enough time, we can get a copy pre-ordered (which qualifies you for any pre-order bonus) and have it for you on release day! We give stuff away! I can't reveal specific details here, but there are certain things in the shop - if people are kind enough to donate things, it doesn't seem right to profit from them. Therefore, when you happen to buy the right item, you will be asked if you want something related to your purchase for free! We are meeting lots of great new people, and we love seeing old friends come by and tell us that they are doing well!
