Happy 2021 everyone! As you may have heard yesterday, the GoA has extended the health closure measures for an additional two weeks. Although the schools are going back, we will plan to go back the week after next week (Jan 23rd) for our in-gym training to start back up, this will include our Recreational and Competitive programs. Ongoing online zoom training sessions (for competitive programs) will continue and details will be sent out. Kindergym will continue to run as norma...l without interruption. We truly appreciate your support and hanging on through all of this! A big shout out to all of our coaches who stepped into the online world and out of their comfort zone (at times), as well to all the athletes and families for moving into this new online version of training to keep engaged as we wait to get back to the gym. We understand these are challenging times for all of us, stay safe enjoy this mild winter, maybe a little ice skating and we can’t wait to see you all back in the gym as we slowly move forward and get back to all the things we love to do. We may be down BUT the team is killing it! What an inspiration it is to see how hard and how fast our team put together an online training session while we were put on temporary lockdown. Tuesday morning, we were told to close the gym until Nov 28th. By Thursday the team moved over to Zoom classes to keep the momentum going! Over a week they will have completed approximately 50 Zoom classes through the different programs We have learned so much over these last months but on...e key lesson learned was be prepared to adapt, don't take an easy out. We have always kept in mind why and who we are here for and that is for all of you, our family. It may not be perfect, it may not be smooth and it may not be what we/you want BUT we can promise, we will continue to do our best to stay connected each and every week and if that looks different from time to time, we promise to make different look as perfect as we can, for each and every one of you. #gymlove #GPGCstrong #beprepared #beadaptive #gymniksvirtual

Hey everyone, if anyone is interested in some volunteer hours in the mall today for our Cars for Christmas lottery booth it would be greatly appreciated :) We need some help from 1:30 to 5:00pm shift at the Prairie Mall.

PLEASE READ - Starting tomorrow (Tuesday) and until further notice, masks are now mandatory within the gymnastics facility (as per bylaw C-1426). This means you will not be able to enter the gym lobby without a mask. Athletes, once in the main gym, will be able to remove their masks, if a parented class, parents will need to keep their mask on. Our back entry (for those athletes required to use it) will not require masks as it is used by athletes only and enter directly into the gym. If you can, please bring your own mask, if you forget one, we will have them available for $1 each - Thank you for your understanding

We are not sure how to start these posts at times so lets just say, Hello This evening we were informed that we will need to close the gym with a scheduled re open date of November 28th. This includes our Recreational and Competitive programs. At this point, we are scheduled to re open on Saturday, November 28th, 2020. For our Session 2 Recreational program, we will revise the schedule and look to build out the full 9 week session. For our Competitive programs, we will loo...k at make up classes for the missed 2 weeks and if not possible, look at other options. We appreciate your patience, support and feedback as we work with AHS, City of GP, AGF, ACA and the Government of Canada in safely bringing our community back. Please Share! We hope you all had an awesome Halloween, learned how to build a candy shoot and remembered to set your clocks back We also wanted to send out a few reminders: Session 1: Last Saturday and this week (except Monday) will be the last week of Session 1 recreational gymnastics. There are no Saturday classes this weekend. There was one Monday holiday in Session 1 so next week there will be all regular Monday classes. Session 2: Registration is open and classes are filling ...up, Session 2 will start up on November 14th, just under 2 weeks away so make sure you have secured a spot. Remembrance Day is next Wednesday, all competitive programming and Kinderym will be off for that day. AND, we are working on our Virtual Christmas Show, it will most likely not be live but well-rehearsed and will be sent out to everyone by the second week of December. Hey everyone, it seems after today's decision from the Government of Alberta, we will need to do some planning on what the next few weeks will look like within the gym. We will release further details tomorrow after additional meetings but at this time, Recreational Session 2 (schedule to start this weekend) will be delayed by 1 or 2 weeks. The 9 week session will run as a shortened 8 week or a full 9 week session. This will be determined in the next couple days. Our compet...itive programming will also be involved in discussions to determine when we can get them moving forward. Grande Prairie Gymnastics and Cheerleading will be closed tomorrow to determine what these latest announcements mean to the gym and how we move forward over the next few weeks. With respect to our announced Viewing Area to be opened, this is put on hold until further notice. These are difficult times and we will do our best to ensure everyone's safety over the coming days, will be sending out a detailed update by end of day tomorrow (Friday). VIEWING AREA UPDATE: Hi everyone, first off, thank you for your patience as we worked through different scenarios on getting our viewing area open once again next week. I can tell you it has not been an easy task coming up with a team plan as the new viewing rules limit us in numbers, include several more processes, documentation of visitors, wellness checks and cleaning have certainly thrown a few curves balls our way. This is not an easy process to facilitate as there are s...o many things to consider and that need to be adhered to, as well, as an NFP, it does add additional costs and resources to make the space usable once again. The viewing guidelines will be sent out on email (by tomorrow) and the procedures will need to be followed as outlined. This will also include 1 parent or guardian per athlete, as you can imagine with about 30 viewers maximum based on new seating options (no standing will be allowed, due to flow), allowing more than one person would simply make the space inaccessible to too many for those allowed. The program, times, dates and procedures in place will be outlined on Friday’s email, it may not be perfect but we will go week to week to ensure everything is moving smoothly and we are capable of maintaining the space in a safe manner for everyone. If at any time we feel it is not working, we will take the steps necessary to adjust our plan (if we can) or look at temporarily closing the space. Yeah this happened! In the wee hours of Monday morning, we snuck in a 2020 GMC Denali through the back doors of Gymniks, across the gym floor and into Eastlink. Lost & Found - With so many changes and no longer being able to use Chalk Bins in the gym, we have repurposed them for our LOST and FOUND bins. One in front lobby and one in back lobby. Check them out if you are missing anything

UPDATE Daily Wellness Form: As we navigate these challenging times, we understand getting through the gym doors can be a little slower at times but starting Monday, we hope to speed that up. Watch your email inbox (Monday) for a "Session Wellness Form". Fill it out once for the entire session you are currently in and you are done. There will be no daily wellness forms to fill out any longer. The session form is a commitment from each of us (participants, parents, staff, coaches and volunteers) that we will only enter the gym if we are well enough to do so. All details will be on your email on Monday so please watch for it. Once done, we will be entering the gym much quicker
