Nothing like a freshly mowed grass ring

How "too tall for this horse" is actually too tall? I hear riders who are 5'8 saying, "With my height I need at least 16 hands," and so forth. Roxie here is 15 ...hands, just, and I am about 6'1. It is not just height. It is how you carry the height, and how you balance and mesh with the horse, (Not discussing weight here, but that also is a factor---) But many who say they are "too tall" for a certain height of horse probably are not. Not really.

Palmers finally did it! All 4 feet, all by himself He took about 4/5 sessions, but we wanted to do it slow and steady and calmly. What a good boy!

What a fun afternoon. We hosted a small jump school for coach Kim Corkum and a few of her students. Such a lovely group of ladies and horses! Having fun with our horses is what we're all about!

We have been boarding horses at Grangewood Farm for 25 years. We love every horse as if they're our own. When you board your horse with us they always receive individualized care by knowledgeable, experienced horse people. At least one of several experienced horse people is on site 24/7. We don’t charge you for normal support services such as applying boots and blankets, minor first aid and medications, which are included in our board services. Horsemanship in the broad sense... is at the core of our business. We recognize that training is as much building a strong positive relationship between horse and human as it is about physical exercises and response to aids. We believe the key to this approach is time and acceptance and we will be there to help with your equine- human riddles in all phases of your relationship with your horse. The facilities are suitable for a range of equestrian activities, competitive and non-competitive, which are welcome. We personally enjoy hacking across the countryside as well as multiple English disciplines, including Hunter/Jumper, Dressage and Field Hunting. We can also support Western disciplines such as Western Dressage, Speed Games and Cowboy Obstacles/Mountain Trail. We encourage an open-minded atmosphere for people to enjoy their time with their horses and if they want to, to try new things. If you have a trainer or coach you work with they are welcome here, (subject only to insurance requirements) but if you are looking for help we can connect you will the right professional for your needs. We can arrange for your horse to be exercised for you in between visits as an additional service. If you need a farrier or vet we can also make recommendations. At Grangewood you will enjoy a quiet, private atmosphere. No lesson program to compete with, no crazy competition schedules. We like to get out and have fun with our horses, and we love when others can join us and do the same!
