To all our valued customers It is with mixed emotions that Jackie and I have made the decision to retire. We took over the park in 1982 with thoughts of keeping it for 10 years. Here we are 38 years later. We have so many memories of our time here. Our 3 daughters grew up at the park. Over the years we have had many people pass through our gates. We have made many... lasting friendships throughout our time here. Jackie and I and the rest of the McBride family would like to thank each and every customer, past and present, for your patronage and for all the help that you gave us whenever we held a park event. We will certainly miss the park and the people, but it is time to move on with the next stage of our life. We would like to extend a big thank you to all of the companies that worked with us over the years. People like Shawn and Jackie from Highlands Propane. We have had a long lasting business relationship with them, along with other local companies such as Cable Cable, local hardware stores, lumber yards etc. It was a pleasure doing business with you. The park has been sold to Summerhill Resorts Ltd. They own several other parks and have the knowledge and experience to run Green Acres. The new owners will bring fresh ideas on how to improve the park and will improve upon what we have accomplished over the years. John will be at the park helping out with the opening and closing of the property this coming season. We hope the transition between the new owners and the campers at Green Acres will be positive for all parties involved. If you have have concerns, please send your inquiries to [email protected] Please note that the e-mail address for Green Acres will change to [email protected] Thanks to everyone John, Jackie, Jennifer, Jessica and Sarah McBride
We had the docks out in record time this year. Only took 9.5 hours. Thanks to the workhorses that came and dealt with the high water and low docks like it was nothing.
Just a reminder that the hydro will be turned off tomorrow. If you can’t make it to the park to put in your slides, you will have to bring a battery with you after Sunday. Please keep in mind that we are now closed and time spent in the park should only be to put in tipouts.
Highlands Propane has completed the regular season winterizing. Hydro is on until the end of the weekend. Your trailers have been unplugged. Please unplug your trailer when you are done. Thanks everyone!
We want to thank everyone for our 40th season! It was unlike any season we have ever seen before and we really hope that next year we can return to our regularly scheduled program. But in all seriousness, we weren’t sure if we would even get a season this year so the fact that we made it to the end without incident is all we really could have hoped for. 41 will be the new 40... let’s hope we can share some cake by then. In other news, Highlands is returning tomorrow to resum...e winterizing. When they have completed all the units, we will let you know so you can come put in your tipouts. Please remember that we are closed so the time you spend in the park should be limited to putting your tipouts in only. Please unplug your trailer when you are done. Water is turned off and the washrooms/garbage area are closed. Thank you all so much and we will see you in the spring!
