Taking Obama with us to watch the inauguration!
Walk-in’ in a winter wonderland with my love. Very festive despite lack of snow. #downtownhalifax @kenkellyvictoria #halifaxnoise #lovelocal
It’s been a great birthday. Thanks for all the birthday wishes. It started with dinner at The Dunes, having the TCH remind me of my age and doughnuts and champagne with the family. Also to the mystery person who sent me the Veuve Clicquot, thank you. I don’t know who you are but your gift was perfect (and perfectly timed!) I promise to pay it forward some day. Today it toasted my birthday and provided much joy.
On Canada Day I’m grateful for the splendor of this land. The many unique ecosystems, the Rockies, prairie skies, northern lights, pristine lakes and coastal views -- we are truly blessed to live amongst such beauty. I want to encourage us to reflect on how we are protecting this land we love. We might easily take nature for granted, but our climate is changing and we must act. We must listen to the voices of Indigenous communities who have been stewarding this land before a...ny of it became colonially known as Canada. And we must follow their leadership and respect their knowledge. Today as I celebrate, I will be doing so consciously. The fight for real climate action continues. The fight to decolonize continues. I am so grateful for the privilege it is to live here as a settler and a guest. If you are joining in festivities today, I wish you a safe and a very happy Canada Day.
Three amazing Dads. One great beach. Happy Fathers Day. @christophergeorgekelly @kenkellyvictoria
The sound of the bagpipes reaches into the soul and releases the grief. Today I asked our son-in-law, Pat LePoidevin, play his pipes to honour those who died. It helped. Patrick LePoidevin
I am grateful to Sheree Fitch, our wonderful author and poet, who has given us words to express our grief and talk to our children. Because We Love, We Cry. Sometimes there is no sense to things my child... Sometimes there is no answer to the questions why Sometimes things beyond all understanding Sometimes, people die. When it hurts like this , my child When you are scared, suffering, confused Even if we are not together Together, let us cry Remember there is so much love Because we love, we cry. Sometimes the sadness takes away your breath Sometimes the pain seems endless, deep Sometimes you cannot find the sun Sometimes you wish you were asleep. When it hurts like this , my child When you are scared, suffering, confused Even if we are not together, Together, let us cry Remember there is still so much love Because we love, we cry. Pray that I had answers, child Pray this wasn’t so There are impossible things ,child I cannot bear for you to know . When it hurts like this , my child When you are scared, suffering, confused Even if we are not together Together, let us cry Yes, there is still so SO So much love Because we love, we cry. S.F. This will be one of the hardest days in our lives for so many. I think of the children. But, we are all children. I think of how all of us are traumatized, in shock. I think of West Ray. Fredericton. Let us go gentle into this day as we learn more, and learn more names of loved ones and realize who we know. But we are each other.

Happy Siblings Day. We were a stylin’ crew in the 70’s.
When I get to heaven, I'm gonna shake God's hand Thank him for more blessings than one man can stand Then I'm gonna get a guitar and start a rock-n-roll band Check into a swell hotel; ain't the afterlife grand? RIP #johnprine
Sitting on the deck by candlelight watching the stars. #happyearthhour #earthhour2020 @skylosier @thegreenparty_canada
My Mom makes the best oatmeal cookies in the world. I finally asked her for the recipe (she’s in quarantine too) and tried making them today. They’re not as nice as hers but she has years of practice and I’m just getting started. Thanks Mom.
Wearing the dress daughter @alyjkelly made me to walk the red carpet at the Junos. No red carpet here in self isolation but I’ve got a great date and a beautiful dress.
@indspire.ca What an amazing night. Honouring 11 Indspire Award winners. Indigenous, Inuit and Métis innovators and motivators. Terrific entertainment. @nac.cna Thanks Honora for being my person.
The square I’m wearing is the same colour as the carpet in the mosque in Quebec where three years ago 6 men were killed and 19 injured. We honour those who died and those injured by fighting hate and bigotry. #stophatespeech #fightracism
#neveragain #WeRemember On the 75th Anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz we renew our commitment to reject hate, bigotry and racism.
This is big.... "BlackRock’s decision may give C.E.O.s license to change their own companies’ strategy and focus more on sustainability, even if doing so cuts i...nto short-term profits. Such a shift could also provide cover for banks and other financial institutions that finance carbon-emitting businesses to change their own policies." See more
The two children of Halifax dentist, Dr. Sharieh Faghihi, express their love for their Mom and thank Canadians for their support. #752 #standingtogether #halifaxnovascotia
The crowd is gathering for the Dalhousie Memorial for those who died when UIA Flight PS752 went down. Tears, flowers music and memories. #752
Very grateful to have landed in Charlottetown after a day of cancelled flights and clever rebooking. We may be the only flight to make it in here tonight or even all day. It means I can attend my cousin’s funeral tomorrow so again I’m very grateful. #aircanada #stormdelay #happyending
Such a great bunch of people. They give me hope for the future.
I love these guys. Today they moved all my election signs from the storage unit to a free storage space. You’re the best. Thank you. #feelingblessed #greatvolunteers #greenpartycanada #bestguys
New Years Levees. A great tradition to start a new decade.
Happy New Year. Here’s to 2020!!!
There's still time to make a donation and get a tax receipt for 2019. Every voter is entitled to make a maximum $1600 donation to the Green Party of Canada AND a $1600 donation to a local riding (Electoral District Association-EDA) National: https://secure.greenparty.ca/en/civicrm/contribute/transact... Halifax: https://www.greenparty.ca/en/civicrm/contribute/transact I know so many of you gave your maximum amount this year. THANK YOU!! It made such a difference. But, if you didn't manage to give your maximum and you have a little left in your bank account after the holiday season now would be a good time to top up and get the maximum tax credit. You have until midnight tonight. 2020 is going to be a big year for Greens here in Halifax, in the Maritimes and right across Canada.
