An informative Q & A
For our new students here is a link to a simple video tour of our school that was produced last June. It should give you an idea of the school’s layout. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-OvkhCoxolQ
This year will be a year that is different for everyone. We will be here to help and thank you for your patience, understanding and cooperation. The following is information that will be useful to you: The first week of school we will have a staggered entry to assist in easing students back into school and allow for new protocol training. The week will go as follows: Monday Labour day Tuesday Grade 8 students only... Wednesday Grade 7 students only Thursday Grade 6 students only Friday - All students will attend school. Students will need a clean mask and a storage bag for that mask daily. Masks must be worn when students are outside of their homeroom class bubbles and when 2-meter social distancing cannot be maintained. Water fountains have been removed, however water bottle filling stations set up. Please send your child with a non-breakable water bottle. Directional arrows and signage will be in place. Students should be sure to bring snacks and lunches as the Cafeteria and our school lunch program will not be available at the beginning of the year. Updated information about the openings of these services will be shared as it becomes available. A reminder that HMS has instated a new fee to purchase all school supplies required by students for the 2020-2021 school year. Please do not send school supplies with your child(ren) other than the masks & mask storage, water bottle and the items listed below: All students will need to purchase/bring: Pencil Case Geometry Set French-English Dictionary Indoor sneakers 2 boxes of facial tissue (Kleenex) $30.00 School Supply Fee $30.00 Student Fee (covers locks, agenda, shop materials, science lab supplies, art supplies and other miscellaneous costs associated with curriculum). These fees can be paid via Cashless Schools at https://asd-s.schoolcashonline.com/ A copy of the HMS Operational Plan will be posted on the HMS website on September 3 and will be updated monthly as necessary. We look forward to learning and working with our HMS families.

A reminder regarding school supplies: Due to COVID 19 restrictions and the increasing cost of school supplies Hampton Middle School will be instituting a new fee to purchase most of the school supplies required by students for the 2020-2021 school year. We wanted to make parents aware of this change. All students will receive exactly what is required for each subject and allow families to limit their need to shop as well as reduce costs. Please do not send school supplies wit...h your child other than what is requested below. The cost of the supplies will be $30 per student. This can be paid the first week back to school in September or online using Cashless Schools in late August. All students will need to purchase/bring: Pencil Case Geometry Set French-English Dictionary Indoor sneakers 2 boxes of facial tissue (Kleenex) $30.00 School Supply Fee $30.00 Student Fee (covers locks, agenda, shop materials, science lab supplies, art supplies and other miscellaneous costs associated with curriculum). We look forward to a new school year of learning with your children. Respectfully, Mrs. Ketchum-Boudreau
