Last week, before we moved back into Phase Orange, a group of students from Crandall University's Claystone Program spent the 3 days doing an Urban Plunge! They submerged themselves in our day to day operations by leading programs, serving in the kitchen, painting our new Recovery house, and much more. We’re so grateful they were able to come out and help. Thanks, Crandall students!
Our mission statement is "Connecting people of compassion with people in need to make a difference." Even though Moncton has gone back into COVID Phase Orange, we are continuing to carry out our mission statement here at Harvest House. Our protocols have changed, and our programs have adapted to keep people safe and healthy, but our level of care has not been compromised and we are blessed to have a staff that comes to work every day ready to help our guests. Please wear a mask and stay safe!
We received a HUGE donation from Northrop Frye School! Their October Cup of Kindness initiative brought in 285 cans/bags/jars of coffee; As a school we highly value kindness and generosity, knowing there are many less fortunate individuals in our city. Our hope is that a warm cup of coffee on a cold day will let our less fortunate know that we care. Thank you, Northrop Frye students and faculty, for your generous donation!!
Kirk and Keegan were young when their mother died of cancer. Kirk, 15, felt upset, hurt, lonely, and depressed. Keegan, 12, felt abandoned, insufficient, and fearful. Over the next decade, they went their separate ways as they struggled with substance abuse and overdoses, but they always found their way back to each other for support. In February 2020 Kirk entered our Recovery program. He’d lost contact with his brother until Keegan entered our Recovery program a few months later. Today, both brothers are closer than ever and working through their hurts and addictions. They are thriving and are great models for the new residents coming in! If you’d like to donate to provide hope for people hurting and addicted, you can help today at Canada Helps: https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/52730

Walmart Moncton West made a large donation of ribs last week so we're eating well in the Harvest House kitchen this week! Thank you for the generous donation that Dayna will turn into delicious meals! We couldn't create these wonderful meals for our guests without the support of our community.
Have you met Kim? If you've stopped by the office or given us a call you've probably talked to her! Kim has been working with Harvest House for about 3 years as an administrative manager and volunteer. She was looking for a way to get involved in the community once her kids all moved out and a friend pointed her here! We're so thankful Kim is a part of our team. Give her a shout-out in the comments and say "Hi" next time you visit our office!

Thank you to those who served for our freedom! We are forever grateful. In observance of this holiday our offices are closed.
We love when donors leave a note with their donations because we get to hear stories like this: I was homeless and addicted in the summer of 2019 when Harvest House gave me food and a place to stay. I just want to thank you for helping me during my time of need and I wish you the best moving forward. I’m currently living in my hometown where I have a full-time job and am part of a 12-step recovery program. Harvest House changed my life; thank you so much!
