The COVID-19 pandemic and the winter’s frigid, -40 weather increased the visibility of Winnipeg’s homelessness crisis like never before. We can’t lose sight of the need to end homelessness even though the coldest nights of the year are over. Why does homelessness exist in our city? ... What factors contribute to this crisis, and who is responding to it? How can Winnipeggers take action to end homelessness, once and for all? #ThankfulThursday Thank you to Manitoba Blue Cross for making a $10,000 donation to help out the community over the holiday season! $10,000 is equal to 3,817 lbs. of food for Manitobans in need. Thank you to Thor Plumbing & Heating for filling 20 company vehicles with food and doing a drive-by drop-off at Harvest!... Thank you to Contempora Steel Builders for raising over $10,000 for Harvest! Thank you to First Nations Health and Social Secretariat of Manitoba for donating $1,000 to Harvest! That's equal to 382 lbs. of food for hungry Manitobans. Thank you to this anonymous young lady for driving around and collecting 137 lbs. of food donations from friends in her neighbourhood!
