Fishing big Lake trout on Cree Lake has been a dream for a long time but it finally all came together. A 10Hr drive through 8 inches of snowfall and a flat tire... in the middle of nowhere marked the beginning of a long day. The skidoo ride was 60 miles to the camp (roughly). 5 mins in we blew a hitch on the skidoo but we rigged up a makeshift pine tree fix to get us most of the way, we got caught in one of the worst blizzards I've ever been in with 18 miles left till camp in a complete white out we busted another hitch but managed to make things work once again. The ride in took 9hrs (normally takes 3) but it was worth it all. We caught alot of nice Lakers, although none broke 30lbs I have a feeling this won't be the last Cree Lake has seen of us. Huge thanks to Brian Garrett at Garrett's Broken Arrow Lodge for helping us with all are mechanical issues and pointing us to the honey holes. See more
