Since we've been practicing social distancing throughout the holidays (and beyond), and couldn't do a team get-together our staff were put to the test of building their own gingerbread villages. They were gifted all the materials and candies to come up with their most unique creation. Since we are a bit of a competitive bunch, we made it a Gingerbread House Decorating Competition. So now, we need your help bringing in the votes. We want to know which Gingerbread House yo...u like best. Also which description you think is most creative and unique. Thanks to everyone in this amazing community who #supportlocal and trust us for all their family needs. We swept the board for all of our Hearing and Audiology services as we continue to grow and improve on our client care and wholistic approach to working with and solving our clients needs. Also being nominated and being recognized in the "Senior Services" category really demonstrates our focus on our clients. We are also very proud to have been recognized in a new categ...ory this year "Learning Services". We have spent the last 3 years really developing and building programming for children and young adults to help them overcomes obstacles in their learning goals. Many of our speech therapy staff are now trained and certified in the Orton-Gilligham reading program, which involves a very rigorous training and testing criteria which is why it remains as one of the best programs for reading in the world. We also became a certified Fast ForWord provider which really focuses on the early learning core concepts that many of us truly struggle with. This is an area we will continue to grow and add additional focus on to continue to support and build our young clients skills and most importantly self confidence. While our new building is still under heavy construction we are getting very excited to introduce to you new collaborations and partnerships that will dramatically increase our focus on whole family care in many new areas and disciplines. Many of our clinicians are now trained and certified in the Orton-Gillingham reading program, which involves intensive training and is considered a world-renowned program that encompasses language and literacy comprehensively, unlike any other program. We also became a certified provider of Fast ForWord which focuses on foundational concepts that enhance memory, attention, processing, sequencing and reading skills. Other programs include cognitive skills training which build on neural (brain) connections critical for academic success and put focus on reading and written language skills. These are areas we will continue to grow in order to support and build our young clients' skills and most importantly self confidence. Thank you all for your participation in our Halloween draw! We saw a number of amazing costumes and loved seeing all of you! We hope you all managed to have a wonderful weekend and perhaps start some new Halloween traditions if you decided not to go door-to-door this year! Since Halloween will be different this year my team at HearSay Speech and Hearing Centre thought we could do something a little different and fun! Despite Covid, HearSay has undertaken a major change to our business by partnering w complimentary rehab services. Now, alongside speech, language, literacy and hearing services, we have partnered with a wide array of exceptional professionals to provide occupational therapy Playful Strides Therapy Inc. physiotherapy (includ...ing pelvic floor), psychology services, social services, reflexology, osteopathy, massage/infant massage, psychotherapy, acupuncture, ABA therapy...the list goes on and we have collaborated w like-minded local entrepreneurs who will all be housed under one roof in the core of Milton. These services will slowly be added as construction continues over the next weeks and months. We are now located at 44 Main St E in the old Tandia bank building between Zak’s Pharmacy and LCBO. Our new rehab and treatment centre focuses on integrating health services and support for children, families and seniors across the lifespan. Now for the fun stuff.....
