Highway 55 Waste Management is happy to announce we have joined with Call2Recycle to become an approved drop-off site for all types of household batteries, including ni-cad and lithium rechargeable. Rechargeable batteries present a significant risk when thrown in the waste, so you can drop-off all your batteries free of charge at our landfill sight! Please do not put ANY type of rechargeable batteries or rechargeable devices in your garbage! These devices are known to cause fires, and we have had two near misses in the last 3 months alone from these devices shorting out in the landfill waste! These items can be dropped of free of charge at the landfill! Thanks for your cooperation!

Highway 55 Waste would like all our customers and recycle Warriors to be aware of the following: Please put any item of a medical nature or personnel protection item, EVEN if it is a recyclable product, in a bag, seal it and throw it in the waste bin. This includes masks, disposable gloves, tissues, etc. Any recycle or waste product that may have come in contact with someone in a household who is sick, please bag, seal and throw into your waste bin. Thank You for helping keep our staff safe!!!

It was a great day, celebrating the success of multiple communities and levels of government working together at the Highway 55 Waste Management Landfill! Their... management and staff are an excellent example of rural SK hard work and hospitality! The closure of the landfill cell 2 and preparation of cell 3 is one of the many infrastructure projects under way as a partnership with provincial/federal funding. Due to a very unfortunate situation, facility tours are cancelled today. Please folks, never toss animal carcasses into your recycling cart. Our employees work ...inside a building (wafting scents) and now a school group has to have their tour cancelled due to overpowering odours. We repeat: Dead animals are not allowed in your blue cart. Thank you.

The Obsolete Product Collection is an industry stewardship initiative lead by CleanFarms. In October, producers can drop off unwanted and/or obsolete materials... at a designated collection site at no charge.
