Developing further the design of this ‘Little Gem’ using all the tools.... pen, pencil, whiteout, a scale and last but not least, a computer. My design process is solidly old school but gives me the time to thoroughly think through and assess the details.

So excited to embark on this project. Stayed up late working out the floor plans for this new 3500 SF house we are designing. Some push and pull definitely still required but pretty good for a first kick at the can. As always, I like to keep things simple.

As seen in the #balacava house, we’re once again using @patricia_urquiola’s gorgeous Shimmer Mirror at #W47th. Urquiola designed the Shimmer Mirror to reflect an array of subtle colour, giving any wall a beautiful arrangement of colour variation across the surface. For our client, also an artist, we converted this Presbyterian Church into a studio space and art gallery. Using our favourite materials, blackened steel, walnut and stone we created an open industrial feel. The steel staircase leads to an open, naturally lit, mezzanine for use as an office. Beside the stairs, a floor to ceiling bookcase and rolling ladder to make sure the entire collection of art books are never left untouched. Click the link in bio to view the full project #hodgsonda

My favourite thing about this job were my clients, nicest people, great eye. Second.. bocci plug in the marble. Third...real marble. Cabinet finish is a close fourth, Ultra Matt for exactly that reason, it’s ultra Matt and ultra durable. Could have gone either way with the bocci plugs. What do you think? White or black?

A few of my favourite rooms at the beautiful #CasaMia. Built in 1932, this residence celebrates a mix of styles, highlighting the charm and beauty of opulent interiors. Soon this magnificent Spanish (and questionably haunted) mansion will begin its transformation into a community care facility. Time to get to work. #hodgsonda

We find ourselves lucky enough to have a team of such talented designers, that when we can’t find a product that is quite the right fit, we simply design it. With everyone in Staycation mode, adding beautiful planters to your outside space makes it all the more enjoyable. Custom planters are an HDA specialty and we just love doing them. And the beauty is, they just get better with age. #hodgsonda
