For the first time during the holidays, Hong Shing's Cantonese BBQ Chef Tim will be offering pre-order for 8 turkeys during the week of December 20 - 27 2020. If you love Chinese BBQ, you’ll love this! Chef Tim will be cooking 10 lb. turkeys in the traditional Cantonese BBQ method with a 4-hour marination process in Chef Tim's spice blend of black cardamom, cloves, star anise, shallots, ginger, and garlic and air-chilled overnight. After 1 hour... in a traditional Cantonese style roaster on medium heat, the finished effect should be an extra juicy turkey with crispy skin and the flavours will be throughout the entire turkey, right into the breast. The turkey special will also come with two (2) sides. Cranberry Gai-Lan Wok-fried Gai-Lan, golden garlic, shaoxing chinese wine, cranberry sauce Cauliflower Truffle Fried Rice Edamame, sweet potato, garlic, chives, white truffle oil This is a very limited special with only eight (8) turkeys available for pre-order. Chef Tim’s Cantonese BBQ We want to thank @eater for doing a video feature of @eastcourtbbq! Cantonese style BBQ is an cooking method in the Chinese cuisine. The origins of the style is from the Canton province (south) of China. Traditionally cooked in clay pots heated with burning wood, Cantonese Style BBQ is known as food for the people.... There a lot of craftsmanship to this method, from the marination to the actual cooking of it, using heat to bring out flavours and textures. We offer Cantonese BBQ pork, Roast pork and duck at Hong Shing. Chef Tim, who a master of Cantonese BBQ for 40 years, have been graciously providing limited quantities of the products per day for us. We believe it is on us to preserve traditions and culture of our cuisine and hope to shine the light for the generations to come. #CantoneseBBQ
