Yesterday (09/25) we had a very special visitor to HRMNA, Judy Carter from Pennsylvania, USA. Judy is a Master Artisan with the PA Guild of Craftsmen and author of "Hooking Animals". Visit her website at: http://www.jcrugs.com/ She is shown here with Founding Chair Suzanne Conrod and Director Sherry Chandler as they present her with a beautiful rug from Brigitte Webb. Brigitte is the 2019 International Rug Hooking Artist of the Year at HRMNA.
Introduction to Fine Shading and Hooking an Animal was held this past weekend with Instructor is Sheila Stewart of Blue Heron Rug Hooking Studio, Victoria B.C., using the design "Morris Hare", by Honey Beehive. www.blueheronstudio.ca Wow, Sheila teaches a great class and we all learned so much! 85% of us were brand new to fine shading and everyone's pieces came along just beautifully as you can see in the photos. Thank you to our Instructor Sheila and all of our workshop participants for a terrific class and weekend! A warm shout out to our Volunteers for the wonderful lunches and snacks and for helping to keep everything running so smoothly.
Thanks to everyone who attended our first, for the 2019 season, Hook-In/Fibre day at the Museum today. There were rug hookers, lace makers, embroiderers, needlepointers and lots of conversation and smiles ...
