I see people riding without a helmet all the time. Back in the day I never rode with a helmet, now you won’t catch me without one. Years ago I was cantering my old horse Midnight in an indoor arena. Through a half halt he tripped in his own feet and down we went. He nearly crushed me into the arena wall. I have marks on my helmet from that fall when my skull scraped along the wall. Just the other day I was cantering Goliath on a 20 meter circle in the field I always s...chool him in. He tripped very badly and I thought we were goners. He would have flipped onto me. Protecting your skull is the least we can do. You never know what can happen even on your most trusted steed.
Trailer and solo trail ride with Goliath today. Lookout Park, Catalina, Newfoundland.
Trails, hill work, dressage schooling, bath kind of day. Earned ya keep again today Goliath!
Had a date with my Red Head this evening.
I’d say we did well over 20kms on the trails today. The boy earned his keep. Little Catalina to mom’s house in Catalina and back. Goliath knew every horse we passed too lol. He didn’t see them but he called out to them when we were near.
Just a horse and a fly fisherman. I’m outta here !!!!
Offering local horse/livestock hauling (Bonavista/Clarenville and surrounding areas); will consider longer hauls also. Thank you.
The absolute love of my life. Watched him race, bought him, turned out to be a lovely dressage star, mountain horse, ditch wacker, bombs could go off and he wouldn’t blink an eye. I put him through colic surgery to save his life. He came back from that with flying colors. What a horse this boy was. If I could have a barn full of Midnights I would. .
From racing to horse shows .

The first time on his back since December 7, 2019. I seriously could not have asked for a better horse. Such an uplifting day for my heart and soul.
