This year due to Covid-19 our annual MD Boot Drive has moved online. So, we are changing things up a bit! We are making this a CODE 3 response for Muscular Dystrophy! Jake’s strong union background and impressive history in the Bronx and his current position as President, will enhance the communication and cohesiveness of our IAFF. I spoke to retired FDNY Chief of the Department,Ed Kilduff, who had the supreme compliment,Jake always took care of business in the firehouse and he had plenty of grounded experience before he joined the UFOA. He is a very capable and approachable person who gets the big picture at all times. He and Ed Kelly will work really well together. We stand with you Jake. It was an amazing morning to have the opportunity to honour these two fallen members of Local 323. Sr Capt Ken Tin Man Kinney and Ret Capt Rick Tingle. Family on hand. With the new norm and COVID-19 we were able to celebrate social distancing, wearing a mask and participating in the virtual fallen firefighters memorial put on by the IAFF. Fallen But Not Forgotten Mayor Mike Hurley, President Jeff Clark, Fire Chief Chris Bowcock all in attendance for a moving tribute. Thanks to all those that helped make this happen. Local 323 Honour Guard did a great job.
